Life does bring up challenges sometimes.
Life gets heavy. Emotionally & mentally.
Celebrating my client this week (she knows who she is! 😉)
But she massively undervalued just how much of a big win she’d had last week. She’d had a very heavy week and yet did not turn to food to comfort herself.
This is a skill. If we’ve always used food to comfort ourselves or a certain behaviour that’s our go to. And it can feel very hard to break that compulsive overeating habit.
Becoming aware of your emotions is one part of breaking this habit.
And it’s part of the work we did together to get her to this place where no matter what life throws. Or how she feels emotionally. She’s able to regulate herself and feel emotions without using food to numb and comfort herself.
You’re no different. You may identify with comfort eating. But you’re not a ‘comfort eater’ it’s a habit. That can be broken.
