BCC Race Team

The popular London Nocturne criterium event will return in 2026 with UCI registration, after eight years off the British racing calendar.

Formerly known as the Smithfield Nocturne, with a list of winners that includes Geraint Thomas, Ed Clancy, Katie Archibald and Hannah Barnes, the event will return as the City of London Nocturne, and will be held over two days on 12-13 June.

Its organiser, James Pope, who also managed the event when it ran from 2007 to 2018, hopes to bring a world-class field to the English capital, with television broadcasting to help “boost” the UK scene.

***Massive update****

We can now officially announce and that .corder_ took the honours in the East Midland Road Race League overall after an incredibly strong season. We are super proud of Spencer's achievements and wish him well as he progresses up the pathway to race for the BCC Elite Development Team in 2026!

Not only that, but we also had Hugh in 2nd, Ben in 7th, Jamie in 13th, Charlie in 14th, George in 15th, Dillon in 22nd and Oliver in 24th!

Come on, what a season!

EAST MIDLANDS ROAD RACE LEAGUE 2025

STANDINGS UPDATED AFTER ROUND 8 THE RIDERS COLLECTIVE GP PROMOTED BY MAX SILLIFANT ON THE GILMORTON CIRCUIT IN LEICESTERSHIRE

Apologies for the delay in updating the League standings but I can finally offically announce that Spencer Corder (Beeston Cycling Club) is the EMRRL 2025 Champion after securing a terrific top 20 placing in the final round of the season.

Hugh Aubrey (Beeston Cycling Club) and Tobi Ng (Team PB Performance) complete the podium positions of the final League individual standings. Hugh managed to overtake Tobi after manging to score points in this final race of the season.

Very many thanks to Max for resurrecting this race and getting it on the calendar and all those that helped along the way.

Thank you to all the riders, officials, helpers, teams and clubs that contributed to the EMRRL in 2025. Thank you for your support; we are already making plans for 2026 so watch this space for further announcements about next season.

If you would like to put on a race next season or otherwise be involved in the League then please get in touch. In the meantime, have a good winter of training and see you on the roads in 2026.

EAST MIDLANDS ROAD RACE LEAGUE 2025

STANDINGS UPDATED AFTER ROUND 7 THE BEESTON CC HOSE ROAD RACE PROMOTED BY BEESTON CYCLING CLUB ON THE HOSE CIRCUIT IN LEICESTERSHIRE

Spencer Corder (Beeston CC) was the top League-participating rider with a 5th position on the day with Barnabas Pickford (University of Nottingham CC) and Charlie Thorpe (Beeston CC) also placing well.

This result moves Sepncer into the League lead with one more round to go and everything to race for with so many points still up for grabs.

Many thanks to Sadie Freeman, Beeston Cycling Club and all the other officials and volunteers who helped to put on the event. Without you the races simply do not happen.

The next and final round of the EMRRL for this season is the EMRRL Riders Collective GP which I am delighted to say has been saved and put on the calendar by Max Sillifant. Please support the event with your early entry!
