Nottingham Ice Hockey Club The Nottingham Ice Hockey Club is the Junior section for Ice Hockey in Nottingham and the surrounding areas

The Nottingham Ice Hockey Club was formed in 1981, one year after The Panthers were re-formed in 1980. The junior section came about after interested parents and fans formed 2 teams – The Tigers U13’s and The Cougars U16’s. Linda Weber was Club Secretary and she played a major part in the creation and organisation of the club. In later years, her son Randall Weber became a well known Panther’s pla

yer, playing for over 10 years, until his return to Canada. The NIHC is the only ice hockey club in Nottingham other than The Panthers and is affiliated to the National Governing Body, the EIHA. It also has the support of Nottingham City Council for the development of junior ice hockey in Nottingham. The Club is run by an Executive Committee and Trustees in accordance with its Constitution. The Club’s objective is to promote and develop ice hockey regardless of creed or gender. Its coaches, officials and managers are all CRB checked. It also operates a Child Protection Safety Policy in co-operation with the National Ice Centre in Nottingham. The Club now has 9 teams from U10’s through to U18’s plus 2 Senior teams, the Lions and the Vipers. The NIHC is committed to delivering the most comprehensive ice hockey programmes available, provided by the most qualified staff available.
