Nottingham Ice Hockey Club The Nottingham Ice Hockey Club is the Junior section for Ice Hockey in Nottingham and the surrounding areas

The Nottingham Ice Hockey Club was formed in 1981, one year after The Panthers were re-formed in 1980. The junior section came about after interested parents and fans formed 2 teams – The Tigers U13’s and The Cougars U16’s. Linda Weber was Club Secretary and she played a major part in the creation and organisation of the club. In later years, her son Randall Weber became a well known Panther’s pla

yer, playing for over 10 years, until his return to Canada. The NIHC is the only ice hockey club in Nottingham other than The Panthers and is affiliated to the National Governing Body, the EIHA. It also has the support of Nottingham City Council for the development of junior ice hockey in Nottingham. The Club is run by an Executive Committee and Trustees in accordance with its Constitution. The Club’s objective is to promote and develop ice hockey regardless of creed or gender. Its coaches, officials and managers are all CRB checked. It also operates a Child Protection Safety Policy in co-operation with the National Ice Centre in Nottingham. The Club now has 9 teams from U10’s through to U18’s plus 2 Senior teams, the Lions and the Vipers. The NIHC is committed to delivering the most comprehensive ice hockey programmes available, provided by the most qualified staff available.

For the past week, Nottingham Juniors Freddie Cole and Tom Hayman have been out in Estonia representing the GB Futures U16s at the U16 Boys Four Nations Tournament in Tallinn.

The GB side return home with the silver medal after a great week of international hockey.

A brilliant experience for both Freddie and Tom and another proud moment for Nottingham Junior Ice Hockey Club.

🇵🇰🏒 What an experience for Raihan in Miami! 🏒🇵🇰

3 months ago, Raihans family we were contacted by Pakistan Men’s National Team captain Zaakir Khan about Rai representing Pakistan at the Amerigol Latam Cup, and what an opportunity it turned into!

At just 16, Rai was selected to play for both the U16s and the Men’s team, as the only British player in the junior squad. 🇬🇧🇵🇰

The U16s had a brilliant tournament, finishing 4th out of 8 teams, before Rai was also selected for the International All-Star Game, becoming the first English player of Pakistani heritage to represent Pakistan in the Amerigol Latam Cup All-Star team.

And to finish an incredible trip, the Pakistan Men’s Team brought home SILVER! 🥈🇵🇰

An amazing achievement, an unforgettable experience.

And of course, the Nottingham Lions short covers made it all the way to Miami too! 🦁🏒

🇬🇧 GB Calling 🇬🇧

Congratulations to Tom Hayman, Freddie Cole & Cooper Pearman who today were announced in the GB Futures squad for next month’s Under-16s Boys Four Nations in Tallinn.

The GB youngsters will face hosts Estonia, as well as Hungary and HS Riga, in the four-team tournament from 27th to 29th August!

Go have an amazing time and show them what you’ve got!
