The DSA can claim yet another roaring success this week in our quest to make Meadow Lane fully accessible.

A tad more than a year ago, Jayne Chapman, pictured below joined the DSA Committee and immediately set about the task of writing to the Council about dropping some kerbs on the junction of Ironmonger Road and Ashing Street adjacent to the Nest.

This particular crossing is not only dangerous due to the traffic and pedestrians on match days but also causes concerns with arctic lorries loading/unloading their goods on the main road with fork lifts.

The initial contact with the council was lukewarm but Jayne persisted like a dog with bone and was not prepared to have the can kicked down the road (pun intended) as this is a serious issue for all disabled supporters trying to get around the stadium.

Committee Members Tony lane & Lisa Gold also wrote to the council with their concerns. Cue several calls and emails later we are very proud to say that works on said junction have been approved & confirmed in writing to us. Although the scheme is in its development stage the works are to be completed in the 2026 / 2027 period courtesy of the Road Safety & Road Safety Education, Nottingham City Council.

We are pleased to announce after negotiations with the club that wheelchair accessible travel is being provided to away games on the official club supporters coach.

Due to the cost of away travel, full fare must be paid for the wheelchair dependant person and their accessible companion should they require one, (no exceptions). Some seats will have to be removed to allow for a wheelchair space and a coach with a lift will be supplied by the coach company.

The club ticket-office has stated that any wheelchair dependant supporters wishing to use this service give them a minimum of 3 weeks notice to allow for the correct coach to be provided.

DO NOT try and book a few days before the game and expect an accessible coach. Therefore, the DSA recommends planning ahead as essential.

For further information or to book a coach space please call the ticket office on 01159557210. If in doubt ask to speak to Charlie.

We want to send a really big thank you to Paul Mace and the Magpie Circle podcast for a massive £805 donation that they raised for the NCFCDSA at their Wembley reunion event.

Not only was it a fantastic night but the donation will make a huge difference to helping us get projects up and running; allowing us to better support disabled fans next season.

Thank you so much to Paul and the team and everyone who went along bought raffle tickets, bid on items and supported.

Self explanatory. See you there!

On Wednesday 17th June The DSA will be attending a meeting which kickstarts a new chapter in our history by officially becoming members of the NAFDSA.

We were on the steering committee from the get go of this national federation, giving DSA’s up and down the country real teeth when combating all things DSA.

This particular meeting will be in readiness for its launch at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium at the back end of July.

Committee as well as member briefing updates will follow the launch, when every member will get their say.
