As we prepare for another Eastwood & Kimberley FC Awards Night this Saturday, it's impossible not to reflect on just how far we've come.
Back in 2011, Eastwood & Kimberley FC was little more than an idea. A pair of young brothers, a love of the game and a desire to create something that could aid and represent our local communities.
The early awards nights were modest affairs. A handful of players, a few trophies and plenty of laughs. Nobody could have imagined what the club would become over the next 15 years.
Fast forward to today and Eastwood & Kimberley FC is a thriving, open-aged community football club with:
โฝ A Men's First Team competing in the Central Midlands Alliance League
โฝ A Ladies Team who have become cup winners and club history makers
โฝ An Under 18s pathway side bridging the gap between youth and adult football thanks to the partnership with one of Nottingham best youth football clubs in 'Moorgreen Colts FC
โฝ The E&K All Stars Charity Team continually raising money and awareness for fantastic causes
โฝ FA Two-Star Accreditation
โฝ Strong community partnerships
โฝ Hundreds of players, volunteers, supporters and sponsors who have played their part in our story
Our awards nights have evolved too.
From small gatherings celebrating one team to evenings filled with players, coaches, families, volunteers, sponsors and supporters from across four teams.
Every trophy handed out tells a story.
Every photo taken captures a moment.
Every person in the rooms over the years has helped write another chapter in the history of this football club.
The faces may have changed over the years, but the values remain exactly the same.
As we celebrate our 15th year as a club, we do so with immense pride in what has been achieved and excitement for what is still to come.
Thank you to every player, manager, volunteer, sponsor, parent and supporter who has been part of this journey since 2011.
Here's to celebrating the past, enjoying the present and building an even brighter future together...This Saturday is expected to be our best yet!
