A proud Coach!
This morning was a wonderful one.
A reminder of why I am a Football coach. To be a Coach is hard but so Rewarding.
It doesn’t not start on the pitch during the session…nope.
It starts before the session, thinking about what you will do, then during the session you need to adapt what you do to achieve 2 important results.
On one hand, I have to teach my players and have them buy into my Football Philosophy “EFFORT, INIATIVE & PRIDE”
On the other hand, I need to keep it Fun.
There is a Fine line between being Competitive, respectful and having fun, but it is Achievable.
The Small Football School Philosophy
EFFORT: Effort is Imperative, without runs we don’t have the ball so cannot play football
INIATIATIVE: The players are taught skills then empowered to display those skills, they decide if dribbling or running or passing the ball.
PRIDE: I only teach football, without compromise, we play NICE football, NOT kick the ball about!
The girls have always been receptive to try to play well but this morning
I saw Tremendous EFFORT and INITIATIVE.
Looking back, when I started to train the girls, they would hardly touch each other, they would avoid contact, they would be nice and always pass.
Today they shone for their physical display, holding, pushing and their individual skills and initiatives were off the Charts 📊
Today they made me REALLY PROUD.
