Yesterday 16 members were invited to celebrate our Club’s Centenary at a Centenary Club Celebration hosted by The All England Club, Wimbledon. What a fantastic day was had, as we joined 15 other Clubs from around the country, who were also celebrating their centenary (256 people). Staff at the All England Club did a brilliant job taking groups on tours of the grounds, including Centre Court, the Museum, the media centre and provided an insight by the ground staff, as to how they maintain the courts to such a high standard. The highlight was a few members being given the opportunity to play some tennis on the excellent grass courts - still very green and in great shape. The day concluded with a cocktail party, including kind messages of congratulation, from Sandi Proctor (previous LTA President), to all clubs and volunteers for achieving this milestone. Everyone had the chance to socialise with other club members and enjoy more of the AELTC’s hospitality. A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone at the All England Club for giving us such a memorable day.
