Ladies, let’s talk Menopause and Weight loss injections.
I am an advanced personal trainer and about to turn 55 and I have been going through the menopause since I was 41. I have also tried 5 HRTs as well as natural remedies.
For over 20 years, I have been an advanced personal trainer after serving 14 years in the army as a physical training instructor and GB athlete.
Us women get to a certain age where what we used to do to lose a few unwanted pounds dont work any more and it is very frustrating. It gets us down so much that we don’t want to be in pictures anymore and offer to take the pictures instead, even leading to self-isolation.
Collagen is another thing that starts to decline in our 30s- our skin isnt so tight,
nails break easier and our hair is not so thick and shiny.
Also, our joints are more achy which makes it even harder to exercise to stay fit and healthy.
Some tips to help with this: • Drink lots of water
• Increase your protein
• Increase your fibre
• Weight train
• Take collagen supplements
If you can swim this is a great alternative to pounding the treadmill in reference to protecting your joints, but I understand some may not feel comfortable in a public pool and it’s more expensive to hire private pools so walk walk walk!
Walking and weight training is ideal and cheap: • no gym fees
• no mirrors that we are trying to avoid
• No people filming themselves whilst working out.
It is proven that we burn more calories keeping fit outside with the natural elements than in a gym where you are more likely to catch flu and colds.
Weight loss injections I have no problem with- I’m not here to judge it is an individual’s choice if this helps your mental health and self esteem.
But please remember to weight train as it can drain you of muscle, remember to eat, drink lots of water and minimise your alcohol intake because if not the nausea and head ache side effects can be unbearable.
Please have a goal of how long you want to take them (as they can be expensive) and the weight and size you are aiming for, also take pictures of before and during. As well as this, ask your close family and friends to let you know if you are starting to look gaunt.
I run group classes on:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday at 9:30-10:10
Also 1-2-1 PTs or ‘bring a friend’ for a 2-2-1 PT to make it cheaper!
I am based in Sprowston at my house. Babies and children are welcome in pushchairs or can go in a playpen.
If you have any questions please drop me a line and I can let you know any prices and current offers!
