For almost two years, these fine folks at Swingymabob have spent their Tuesday evenings cooking up plenty of fancy moves as lesson content - and so last night, we decided that it was high time to let someone cook something up for them instead!
I know we thank them every week but yesterday evening was a chance to show our appreciation for all the time, effort and energy they give so freely to ensure that Swingymabob and the wider Norwich swing dance scene in general remain fresh, fun and vibrant. Several of those pictured here are also involved in running Fine City Swing and the Jenny Thomas Jammers Norwich, so their commitment goes far beyond what might been seen on the social dancefloor - and somehow, they manage to do it all with unstinting enthusiasm and a smile.
Swingymabob was started in 2018 by Barry, Helen and Hannah and it's been a real joy to watch it grow and evolve, even through the toughest of times. But it wouldn't be all that it is now without this fantastic bunch, who are not only brilliant dancers and teachers but also truly awesome people through and through.
So, to Linda, Andrew, Abigail, Tracey, Mark, Robert, Laura, Jack, Rheanne, Wendy, Bruce (in absentia) and former teachers Ollie and Takaaki - from Helen, myself and on behalf of everyone who has triple-stepped a path around the Swingymabob dancefloor: thank you so much for everything that you do. You have more than earned this summer break and we hope you've had a chance to kick back and relax after all your teaching and organising endeavours. It was a pleasure to spend the evening in your collective company, and we can't wait to be back dancing with you when Swingymabob returns to the Canary Club on Tuesday 15th September.
Big swingin' love,
Hannah & Helen xx
