So quite a raw post incoming…and I may have touched on this a few years ago, but do you know what? I don’t know, I can’t remember….
This is the thing, as a female mature Personal Trainer going through menopause and navigating turbulent times, sometimes I think I’m just not good enough.
When the self doubt kicks in, the imposter syndrome is very real. Then I question myself, and tell myself I’m just not good enough. Comparing myself to Personal Trainers who are young enough to be my children! Who don’t even offer what I do!! I mean….wth is that all about?
Then I have a really lovely conversation just in passing, nothing planned with a younger personal trainer who is also maybe feeling the pressures of not being good enough and the pressures of keeping up with social media and trying to workout what followers want or need to see.
Then I remind myself, I’m 51. I’m the healthiest, fittest and strongest I’ve ever been. My business ticks along quite nicely, and I’ve been doing this for 15 years! I’ve seen other trainers come and go in that time alone….longevity in this game is a rare thing.
I grew my business before social media and it also survived that invisible virus after being locked down and shut down for months with a massive cut in my income.
So I’ve given my head a wobble and I’m finishing the course I started months ago and will register for new training this week. Because the learning never stops, because I love what I do and I need to stop being a dick head!!
Please tell me it’s not just me? I know my HRT isn’t as effective as it was and I’m booked in for my review in a couple of weeks. Being a menopausal woman keeping on top of work and life, is hard. Sometimes I think I’m going bat s**t crazy! 😂😂😂
But I know I’m not….I’m just me. 🥰
