TKDA Taekwondo Academy is a martial arts club run by family to give a great martial arts experience to people of all ages who wish to learn martial arts, or increase fitness, flexibility and strength. Our experienced instructors teach practical classes with emphasis on both the sport and the practical application for self defence. We do evening classes for all age groups
TKDA Taekwondo Academy is the spiritual successor to N.A.M.A., the Norwich Academy of Martial Arts. We opened in October of 2018, with two instructors, Barney Mewton, 3rd Dan and his brother Angus Mewton, 3rd Dan. Both Angus and Barney are former students of Peter and Lyn and are following in their footsteps to teach the same Taekwondo style. The story of TKDA is another chapter in that of N.A.M.A. Opened in January of 2007, Norwich Academy of Martial Arts has already built up a large membership, from young to old and even full family members. is jointly owned by Peter Shipley 5th Dan and his mum Lyn Shipley 3rd Dan, they work closely together and teach many of the classes. Both, or at least one of them is there every night training or just there to help with questions. With over 40 years of martial arts experience between them, the Shipleys have a vast knowledge of their arts on every level. Peter has competed successfully in national and international competitions in all disciplines and produced students to the same high standard.
