Refilling your liquid items is a great way to save plastic and some money.
You can either have larger sizes i.e 5L at home to refill from if you have space. Or you can pop along to a refill shop.

It is also a service many of our distributors offer so get in touch and we'll see if there is someone near you.

If you're not comfortable switching away from liquid products then it is a plastic-reducing compromise.

Do you refill?

As the temperature heats up, it's good to know that there is a plastic-free deodorant that will keep you feeling (& smelling) as cool as a cucumber.

Designed to look after your skin and the planet it is
🏵️100% natural,
🏵️vegan,
🏵️plastic-free,
🏵️made in the UK
🏵️and money from every sale is donated to the Marine Conservation Society.

Even though they're plastic-free they come in a range of packaging options - Cardboard tubes. Aluminium tin or The Bare Bar, which just has a cardboard box.

They are really cost-effective too. Because they work so well you only need to use them sparingly. With the Bare-bar lasting around 6 months, it works out about 5p a day!

It is possible to care for yourself, the planet, small business and your pocket all at the same time.
Oh and they are also available in a range of great fragrances too (or fragrance-free if you smell sweet enough already :) )

You can find the full range at

Easy switch for a plastic-free win.
If you're still using disposable razors or those switch out the blades kind of razor, this is a switch that will save you loads of plastic and also cash.
Disposable razors and the heads are really hard to recycle because they're mixed material, so they almost never are.

They also cost pence to manufacture but you pay a lot for them. You're paying for the brand name.

Safety razors will last you YEARS. The handle is easy to grip well balanced and also pretty swish. It will look Good in your bathroom.
The blades are single material, easy to replace and easy to recycle being all steel. No plastic.

Because of the way they shave, you also get fewer in-grown hairs and a super smooth shave, which I swear lasts longer than with other kinds of razors. But that last part is just my personal opinion there is absolutely no science backing that up!

I guess you'll be able to see if I'm right if you try one out ;)

Have you switched yet? What do you think, smooth for longer??

Another amazing plastic-saving swap is period wear.
The average woman uses 11,000 sanitary items in her menstruating lifetime.
With 1 pack of pads having the same amount of plastic as 5 carrier bags, that's a lot of plastic!
Not to mention tampon applicators.

And re-usable options can save you a fortune too.

There are so many options out there for a plastic-free period.
We're showcasing just a few.

I know people struggle with shampoo bars sometimes. Finding the right one can be tricky. But not so with conditioner bars.

These little bars are amazing. Just a couple of swipes down my long hair (or my daughter's hair- 2nd pic) and we have silky smooth, tangle-free hair for days.
It has saved us more plastic bottles than you can shake a green stick at. And it lasts ages so it saves money too.

If you're unsure about using it in a bar form you can also dissolve it in some hot water and pop it in a conditioner bottle to use as a liquid!

You can also leave it on to use as a deep conditioning treatment.

My top tip for using a conditioner bar is to swipe through the length of the hair 2-3 times and then comb through the length and roots.

Even if you're struggling to find a shampoo bar that works for you switching your conditioner for a bar saves 1/2 the plastic of your hair wash routine. And that is a great start.

I don't know when compost became a subject I get passionate about talking about, I mean, it's not exactly glamorous, is it? Nevertheless, here we are!
✔️Composting won't save loads of plastic. But if it saves one bag of compost being bought by everyone every year it has still saved ALOT of plastic.
✔️Also composting your food waste saves a lot of methane being produced, which happens when food waste goes to landfill. Methane is a more potent greenhouse gas than CO2.
✔️And it will save you money too.

So, the triple threat, or holy trinity of composting for you right there!

Composting is really easy to do. It doesn't smell if you do it right, and it shouldn't attract rats (don't put in cooked food, raw meat, or dairy)
Your plants will love it and you might find hedgehogs and solitary bees love it for hibernating in too.

Have you tried composting yet? If not what's stopping you?

There are many reasons to buy pre-packed.
Convenience, cost (sometimes), habit.

Buying loose fruit and veg though saves so much packaging that really isn't needed.
Especially on things that already have their own removable packaging, like
Banana's
Oranges,
Onions

Any time you can opt-out of taking home extra packaging has to be a good thing for the planet.

Drop a 💚 if you agree!

I was once a very reluctant gardener. When we started to grow our own it was with just 6 strawberry plants in a little corner of the garden.
And those strawberry plants became a strawberry patch that on their own saved a few plastic punnets and some food miles. And that counts. It really does.

Now we grow all sorts, from peas, to broccoli, pumpkins to carrots. But strawberries will always be my first gardening love.

Even if you have a windowsill you can grow some herbs on you'll be saving plastic and carbon.
Even if you go to a local PYO with a tub instead of the supermarket for your summer fruits, you'll be making a difference. (and if you're ever stuck for an activity to do with the kiddies, they LOVE this!)

It's all the little things we do that really add up.

Have you tried growing things to eat? Or are you an old (green-fingered) hand?

We love our string bags
Here are 6 reasons why -

🌱Made using organic or recycled cotton
🌱They scrunch up super small so easy to store in a corner of your handbag, car or even pocket and whip out at a moment's notice!
🌱 Although they scrunch up small they expand to hold loads, people are always amazed how much goes into one.
🌱 They're super strong.
🌱They last ages, we've had ours 10 years and they're still going strong.
🌱 And of course, they're plastic-free!

There is nothing quite like a simple product that does its job, simply, effectively and for a long time without letting you down.
