What an absolute privilege it is to be someone’s very first gymnastics coach. 🫶

You know, there have been a few occasions recently where I’ve come across gymnasts I once taught. A 16 year old in the same Dance School show as my son, a 13 year old who got in touch to say they’re starting their own coaching journey, a gymnast who moved away and is now competing at the British Championships. 🤸🏻‍♀️

These gymnasts were aged 3-6 when I taught them, and chances are they’ve long forgotten their early coaches, but we never forget 🙅🏻‍♀️ the little ones we’ve taught (and what they taught us!)

It’s an absolute honour to play a part in those very early days, when someone is just discovering our fabulous sport, and it’s always a delight to find out their journey didn’t end there. 🚀 We LOVE to hear how your little ones are getting on, once they move on from Jolly Gymnastics.

Full-sized gymnastics centres are incredible. 🤩

Genuinely, we’re huge gymnastics fans and we love them. The foam pits, the spring floors, the towering bars and the rows of beams take us back to our own days competing and the incredible skills we worked so hard to achieve. 🤸🏻‍♀️🥇

But when it comes to introducing little ones 🧒🏼 to gymnastics, we believe bigger isn’t always better.

Just as you would teach a toddler to ride a bike on a smaller frame with stabilisers 🚲 or learn to swim in a shallow pool with float aids 🏊 we believe the equipment needs to be safe, age- and stage- appropriate to learn the first skills.

At Jolly Gymnastics, you’ll find miniature beams, scaled-down bars, springboards they can actually leap to the top of. We teach in a way that means it’s safe for little ones to fall and they don’t always need hands on-support from their coach. We take time to build confidence that let them know they are capable, and they can do it 🤩

We choose colour 🌈 and we choose fun props and games because children are supposed to be children, and they learn best when they absolutely love it.

There is absolutely a place for full-sized Olympic gymnastics centres and we hope one day your budding gymnasts will be there, building on the foundations they learnt with us and excelling within our sport. 🥇 But there’s a reason we that’s not what we have at Jolly Gymnastics.

🧒🏼 🌧️ Rainy Day Friday plans?! 🌧️ 🧒🏼

Jolly Tots Stage 1 classes are an opportunity to play and explore our bright, bouncy equipment freely with interaction from our qualified preschool gymnastics coaches.

Our 🗓️ Friday 11.30am 🗓️ classes are looking super quiet as many of our little ones have moved up a Stage into our structured taught classes.

We have spaces for YOU and your little one, if they’re walking up to age 4. Come and have a very jolly time tomorrow!

We’re not crying, you are! 🥹

We love working with local businesses and are often looking for new partnerships and ways to bring gymnastics to little ones in our community. Our session with Little Adventures Play Group was exactly that!

What an absolute pleasure it was to ‘pop up’ at Little Adventures very first monthly Play Group in Old Catton this morning.

We took some of our mini gymnastics equipment for the tiniest tots to explore alongside Little Adventures’ soft play, sensory toys, craft activities 🎨 🖍️ and the most beautiful tuff trays 🫶

Lucy put an incredible amount of care and thought into this session, which she managed to sell out in little over 24 hours! 😮 We know she’s going to be super busy with her future sessions and would very much recommend you follow along so you can join her… you won’t want to miss out!
