Which direction will your training go in?
If you’re starting your fitness journey (or returning to it after some time away), what can you do NOW to be still doing it in a year’s time?
It’s easy to see exercise as a short-term solution, influenced by a culture that prioritises quick fixes and drastic ‘transformations’. We're conditioned to chase immediate results, often at the cost of sustainable habits.
At the beginning of a fitness journey, we often have good intentions. We throw ourselves into it and the excitement of starting something new powers us through for a couple of months. But then life throws up challenges, you start to miss a few sessions. Eventually, you think “oh well I tried 🤷🏼♀️” and you stop completely. Lots of people end up in this place, waiting for a new wave of motivation to eventually get them going again.
However, it doesn't have to be this way. It may not be the best business model for me, but I’ve actually convinced people to have FEWER PT sessions to begin with. I believe in adding exercise that fits with your lifestyle, having adaptable training sessions and fostering sustainable habits. With this, your fitness journey can last for the whole of this year and beyond.
Set achievable goals, celebrate small victories, and remember you get to decide what counts as progress. 👏🏼
