Well… what a year 2023 has been
winning E plate, Finishing 4th in championship and multiple podiums and trophies acquired.

None of this could’ve been done without Tom and Murray. The support I’ve been given this year has changed me so much as a driver having started the year scared to be battling with the much more experienced drivers on track to at the end of the year having mesmerising battles for podium positions. Although there’s been many ups and downs it’s been an amazing year and I wouldn’t have got to this stage without an amazing team backing me.

More importantly, I’d like to thank my dad for being on the spanner’s for me this year, for taking me to the track, for paying to get me on track and for giving up his precious weekends where he could be watching the football instead🤣.

I would also like to thank .vickers25, , .rowley33, and all the other drivers I’ve raced against this year for never failing to put up a good fight and providing some fantastic racing throughout.

Lastly, I would like to give a massive thank you to my family. Without the support I simply wouldn’t be at this stage and I couldn’t do it without you all.

However, despite all the good that’s come from this year I’m sad to announce we won’t be racing next year. It wasn’t an easy decision to make, however due to funding issues, my GCSE’s and looking to pursue a future in the raf we as a team wouldn’t of been able to commit to another season of karting. Hopefully, we will return to karting in the near future however as for now we hang up our boots & gloves up and look ahead to the opportunities that may come our way next year.

🟢⚫️Fulbeck round 9⚫️🟢

Old tyres from a few months ago limited our performance over the weekend however we still gave it our all throughout.

Qualifying- P10
Poor qualifying on my behalf, had work to do from here.

Heat 1- We got podded off dropping us to 12th after a good start meaning we had to work our way through the train of karts ahead to finish P7

Heat 2- P7
A poor start meant the karts ahead drove away and being on old tyres meant we didn’t have the pace to close in the gap.

Final- P9
Poor driving standards meant we were just getting used as a brake. Luckily, we managed to drive away from the carnage however a red flag came out which meant we couldn’t drive up to the pack ahead. Luckily both drivers were ok 🙏.

🟢⚫️FSS Round 8⚫️🟢

Qualifying- P1 🏁

Heat 1- P1 -> P4
Heat 2- P4 -> p10
Got shunted off on start and had to come back through the pack, then got a 5 second penalty aswell.

Final🏁
P4 -> P2
Very good final with on my back bumper for most of the race.

Overall, a mega weekend. Can’t thank enough for his help aswell as my dad and the rest of my family.

🟢⚫️Super one round 9 & 10⚫️🟢

Overall, the weekend went pretty well. On the Friday test day we had mega pace, however on Saturday it was wet conditions which I have never been successful in at whilton mill.

🏁Round 9

•Qualifying P24, not the best but we struggled in the wet conditions.

•Heat 1 P24 -> P27.
Went off at the start leaving us to be dead last with a massive gap to the back of the pack. The kart felt good and we pushed to catch up to the pack however didn’t have enough time to regain the positions we lost.

•Heat 2 P24 -> P27.
Got taken out twice, once at the start and once at the end. Had excellent pace going from dead last and a big gap up to P23 and catching the karts ahead. Disappointing we were taken out as pace was certainly there.

•Final P30 -> P30
We made a gearing change before we headed out for the final however this just made us slower hence we didn’t make any positions up.

🏁Round 10

•Qualifying P24
We got held up in traffic which held us back.

•Heat 1 P24 -> P20
Decent heat 1 having some good battles with other drivers.

•Heat 2 P24 -> P17
Very good heat, kart felt good and had some good battles making us as many positions as we could.

•Final P20 -> P12 (P17 after penalties)
Very good final, kart felt on rails and my best super one final yet.

🟢⚫️Fulbeck sprint series round 6🟢⚫️

Qualfiying- P3
The best I’ve ever qualified. Kart was on rails.

Heat 1
P3 -> DNS
On the warmup lap my engine cut out and wouldn’t restart despite my best efforts. This time it somehow wasn’t my dads fault 🤣!

Heat 2
P25 -> P10
Sliced through the pack nicely Setting consistently quick laps despite traffic. This set us up in a good place for the final.

Final
P10 -> P8
We had an awful start to the race dropping back to Atleast p14 by the first corner. However, I didn’t let it bother me and pushed myself to get through the pack as quick as possible to catch the karts ahead. We gained a good amount of time on the karts ahead however just one more lap would’ve meant we got round them.

Overall, it was a good weekend and hopefully we can carry this over to super one at whilton in a few weeks time!

🟢⚫️Super one round 7&8⚫️🟢

⚫️🟢Saturday- round 7🟢⚫️

Qualifying- P16
Chassis was slightly bent which compromised us but still a good start.

Heat 1- P16-> 32nd
Got taken out at the start. Later in the race we cut the chicane due to a poor move from another driver which meant we got a 1 lap penalty.

Heat 2- P16 -> 22nd
Had a decent start and was in 13th for most of the race until the last few laps where we got shunted off.

Final- 32nd -> 19th
Had a good final having some good battles and pushing the kart to try and gain as many positions as possible.

🟢⚫️Round 8- Sunday⚫️🟢

Qualifying- P15
Messed up a crucial corner on my fastest lap. However, after reviewing the data with I knew what I had to do to fi@x it.

Heat 1- 15th -> 13th
Had an awful start after getting shunted which meant I lost 6 positions. However, I got my head down and pushed to try and gain back the positions I lost at the start.

Heat 2- 15th -> 19th
Another awful start after again getting shunted. Tried to gain the positions I lost back however the karts infront were much further ahead than I was so It was difficult to catch them.

Final- P14 -> 24th.
Had a poor start dropping back to 16th. The lap after we got wiped out and were miles behind last place. However, we pushed as much as we could to try and regain a few positions.

Overall, it was definitely a weekend to forget. Personally, I think trying to squeeze 32 karts round fulbeck just doesn’t work and frustratingly with us being in the middle of the action it just meant we were a magnet for the carnage.

⚫️🟢Fulbeck sprint series round 5🟢⚫️

We missed Saturday practice due to other commitments so went straight into racing on Sunday.

Qualifying: 23rd. Not the best, we had a lot of work to do.

Heat 1: 16th -> 16th. Some poor decision making from me in the early stages in the race meant we got put in situations we didn’t want to be in.

Heat 2: 15th -> 7th (11th after penalties) Bit of a hectic heat but kept out the trouble for the most part. However, a drop-down penalty from the chaos resulted in us losing some positions.

Prefinal- P3 -> P5. Start should’ve been a false start which meant we dropped back a few positions. We managed to get back up to 4th, however a misjudged last lap move for 3rd meant we finished 6th.

Final: P25 -> P7
We went out for the formation lap and it started chucking it down, so the race got red flagged and we had to swap tires over. We went back out and excelled in the wet conditions having a good battle with my teammate .rowley333 .

🟢⚫️Super one round 5 &6⚫️🟢

We didn’t do any testing on the Friday which put us on the back foot before the racing even started so we knew this wasn’t going to be an easy one.

🟢⚫️Saturday⚫️🟢
Practice -> 23rd
Was getting use to track and setup, still had alot to learn.

Qualifying -> 25th
Not the best qualifying, still getting use to the track.

Heat 1: 25th -> 16th
Took onboard ‘s advice and sliced through the pack.

Heat 2: 25th -> 13th
Really good heat, made some good overtakes and put in some good lap times.

Final: 13th -> DNF
Got wiped out by an out of control kart which resulted in me snapping both track rods. Not the best end to a good race day.

⚫️🟢Sunday🟢⚫️
Qualifying: 21st
Kart was bent from Saturdays accident which made it difficult to drive and got caught up in traffic.

Heat 1: 21st -> 12th
Another good heat making some good clean overtakes and pushing the kart as much as I could.

Heat 2: 21st -> DNF
Had a poor start due to a broken down kart infront of me. Then I had a kart go over the back of me resulting in the exhaust coming off.

Final: 20th -> 10th(Top rookie 🏆)
Had a really good start and pushed through the race, making some good overtakes to finish in a comfortable P10 and taking home a trophy!
