1874 Walking Football Club is not just a club, it's family.

The Tommy Ward WF Tournament (mixed teams) was held yesterday to raise funds for St. Luke's Hospice which is close to so many's hearts.

Organised, fantastically, by Kate S, it proved a smashing event and fun was had by all.

Besides the team names being Everton hero's (Tommy was a true Toffee fan, as is Kate), the whole day went swimmingly, the rain only appearing during the last set of games. Rooney's Rascals (I'll leave that with you...) were the overall winners.

Thank you to the bakers (there's some talented Mary Berry's in there), the wonderful volunteers, the referees, the supporters, the people who donated prizes, everybody who donated on the day and for those unable to attend who gave on the justgiving page and just a general thanks for everyone for being involved.

All the generous donations have resulted in today's total which stands at £1241.50.

Walking Football is such a joy to play, but the real joy is the Walking Football family who always spring into action at a time of need 😊💚

This Sunday we’re getting together for a fun day of walking football, friendship and fundraising, all in aid of St Luke’s Hospice.
We’re hoping to raise as much as we can for a fantastic local cause, with a raffle, cakes and plenty of football thrown in!

Tonight’s training involved plenty of rain, plenty of football and, most importantly, plenty of fun! 💚

🦁 Lionesses Night Out ⚽️

A great club night out for 1874 Northwich Women’s Walking Football Club at Hill Dickinson Stadium in June, watching the Lionesses take on Ukraine in their Euro qualifier.

England won 3–0! 🦁⚽️

Brilliant atmosphere, great company - and lovely to watch some footballers who are actually allowed to run and head the ball! 😂

🌴 Devon Memories 🌴

What an amazing few days we had in May at the Ashbury Resort in Devon! 💚

We headed down to take part in the two-age-category walking football tournament ⚽️ but, as always with 1874 Northwich Women’s Walking Football Club, it was about so much more than football!

From padel, pickleball, darts and badminton to archery, shooting, bowling, pool and table tennis — there was something for everyone! 🎯🏹🎳

Add in some relaxing time at the spa, a birthday celebration 🎂 and our fantastic Hawaiian-themed party night 🌺🍹🌴 and you can see why there were so many laughs and memories made.

Fun, Friendship & Fitness — that’s what it’s all about. 💚

1874 Northwich Women were recently invited to a 'Festival of Football' at Stockport County's Edgeley Park.

The tournament consisted of 4 Stockport Hatters teams, 1 from Coedpoeth and 1 from 1874. We managed to progress to the semi-final though, unfortunately, lost on penalties. Coedpoeth went on to win the tournament.

The games were played in the fun and friendly manner requested and the competition side was only part of it.

We retired after the game to a lovely afternoon tea. That was the quietest part of the day 😄

Building up friendships within your own team and with opposing teams just makes the game and time spent with like-wise women more enjoyable.

What a finish to the season! 🏆⚽
The Cheshire Women’s Walking Football League title race went right down to the final match, with the top two teams facing each other in a tense and nervy 0-0 draw.

That result was enough to see us crowned champions once again, retaining the title by the narrowest of margins - just 2 goals on goal difference!

A massive achievement by an incredible group of women, whose hard work, determination and team spirit have been outstanding all season. 💚

Huge credit to Egerton Amazons for pushing the title race right to the wire and making it such a competitive season. 👏

Great too to share the league with our fellow 1874 side, the Danes, who represented the club brilliantly throughout the campaign. 💚

Through charity support (Macmillan, Beyond Recovery Project & prostate cancer awareness), health and wellbeing talks, new fitness experiences and training referees and first aiders, we’re proud to make a difference beyond football.
