Every week, 12 young people in the UK sadly lose their lives due to undetected heart conditions.
As a club, everyone at the Wasps has had the opportunity to undergo a screening assessment and, where required, a follow-up heart scan. These simple checks can be life-saving.
Many of those affected show no symptoms at all, which is why early detection is so important. With greater access to screening, many of these tragedies could potentially be prevented.
We urge the Government to introduce ECG heart screenings for all young people from the age of 14.
