It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George Bunner MBE (1932–2025), the creator of Sportshall Athletics. George set up the programme to provide all children the opportunity to take part in athletics through a safe, energetic and fun format. He was recognised as a leading authority in the development of children's athletics, impacting the lives of millions of children across the globe and receiving an MBE for his services to athletics in 2002.

The Eveque Team extends our heartfelt condolences to George’s family and friends. We remain committed to supporting Sportshall in honouring his vision and continuing his incredible legacy by inspiring future generations through Sportshall Athletics.
