NORTHAW EQUESTRIAN CENTRE, Potters Bar:
We have some space becoming available for 7 day, 5 day, DIY and grass livery ( only 1 grass space). We are a rustic farm with a mixture of stable types. We don’t look fancy , however the care and the facilities are very good.
We offer: 2 arenas with good, well maintained surfaces, one has mirrors.
Good quality forage, ad lib for 5 and 7 day livery based on fair usage.
365 turnout available in small- medium same s*x herds. Overnight turnout available during the summer ( optional).
Fields rested and rotated monthly and set fair every Spring after the mud has gone.
Sensible system for introduction of new horses into their groups, using adjacent fields for at least 2 weeks so the horses can safely get to know eachother.
Large fields that still have grass all
Winter ( gateways do of course get muddy).
Paddock turnout available in case of veterinary necessity/ rehabilitation purposes. However we aren’t taking horses for long term individual turnout.
Full beds and a variety of bedding options.
Services available for DIY.
Hacking on bridle paths year round and around our hay fields when the ground allows.
Coaching on site and outside coaches welcome ( insurance required).
Great team of experienced and caring staff.
Friendly, inclusive atmosphere.
Late checks carried out.
Own farrier/ vet / physio / dentist welcome and we also have all of these regularly if you’d like to use ours.

2 hour one to one horseriding experience-
Includes a 45 minute lesson or ride out. Also time to get to know your horse and spend time grooming and tacking up before you get on or try your hand at some mucking out!

Flexible bookings to accommodate weather conditions.

Pony day vouchers for our holiday pony days, which we run every school holiday.
For children 5-13 years. Group environment, day runs 9.30-4.00. Dates tbc, however the camps usually take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Vouchers valid for 2 years.

One of our very nice, long term liveries is taking her gelding off to University with her,, meaning we will also have space coming up for a gelding on either 5 or 7 day livery.
One stable is an outside stable, with a nice little storage room built in. The other stable is indoors in an an American barn. Both are a decent size.

Everything below still applies;

Due to 2 of our lovely veteran mares going onto smaller paddock turnout closer to the yard to have a quieter life, we do have space on 5/7 day livery for a mare who would enjoy daily turnout ( option for overnight in summer) in a small herd of four.
Other than that we are now full again, including for grass livery.

Livery space at Northaw Equestrian Centre:
Whilst we have a very small riding school on site, we are primarily a livery yard and have recently had a space become available for a livery ( either 7 day part or 5 day part) on the yard and also one space for a grass livery.
For a yard based livery, we do offer ad-lib hay and straw ( subject to fair usage), year round turnout in small same s*x herds ( gateways obviously become muddy in winter but we don’t run out of grass) with overnight turnout available in the summer, shavings also available, separate arenas for the liveries and the riding school with arena use very rarely restricted, both arenas recently resurfaced and regularly watered and harrowed , hacking, regular dressage and jumping/ polework clinics, training on site available, own trainer welcome, regular vet and farrier visits, own vet/farrier welcome, services available for 5 day liveries , gradual introduction to new turnout buddies over a couple of weeks into established herds, friendly yard with low turnover of liveries and staff.
We don’t offer individual turnout or competition livery.
Grass livery- available to horses which are accustomed to being in a herd, gradual introduction facilitated, price does not include supplementary hay in the winter, services are available, use of arena included, storage for tack and a trunk provided, occasional stable use available at extra cost and subject to availability.
