🏁💙 AND THAT’S A WRAP ON ALFIE’S FIRST EVER NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP! 💙🏁

What a season it’s been! It definitely hasn’t been without its ups and downs, and this weekend was just one of those weekends!

Sometimes racing just doesn’t go your way, and this was definitely one of those weekends with multiple instances of bad luck but that’s what karting is all about — learning, improving and coming back stronger. 💪

Here’s how the final round went: Saturday was dry with places gained but then lost with limited progress forwards

🔥 Heat 1 - P17 ➡️ P17

🔥 Heat 2- P22 ➡️ P18

Sunday super heats were wet with not much confidence Alfie spun while trying to avoid a crash.

🌧️ Super Heat 1 - P18 ➡️ P20
🌧️ Super Heat 2- P18 ➡️ P15

My driver coach Aka Dad gave me some reassuring words and much needed confidence and Alfie fought his way forwards.

🏁 FINAL - P28 ➡️ P26
Alfie was flying and had made his way up to P18 before being spun, losing 8 places. 😩

The Kart Championship has been an amazing experience for Alfie. So much learning, plenty of things to work on and improve, and most importantly, friendships and memories that will last forever. Great weekend with Sebastian McCarthy Racing #56 and congratulations on winning top privateer.

We couldn’t be prouder of how far he’s come in his first ever national championship. 🏎️💨
A massive thank you to everyone who has supported Alfie, sponsored him, helped behind the scenes and followed his journey. It really does mean so much. ❤️

And now… onwards to the Autumn Cup in November! 🍂🏁

More racing, more moving forwards ahead of a big push for 2027

Bring it on! 💙🏎️💨

🏁 Next stop… Shenington!! 🏁

Alfie #78 is heading to Oxfordshire for Round 5 of The Kart Championship at the iconic Shenington Circuit! It will be a steep learning curve never having been to the track before.

A proper old-school British kart track with fast straights and technical corners, it’s a circuit that rewards smooth, consistent driving and smart racecraft.

This weekend will be a busy one with:
🏎️ Qualifying
🏎️ Two Heats
🏎️ Two Superheats
🏎️ The Final

Results from the Heats and Superheats will decide the grid for the Final. Alfie will be looking to keep the momentum going. As always, we’ll be giving it everything! 💪

WHAT. A. DAY!! 🤯🔥
After a sleepover staying up to watch the England match ⚽🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿, Alfie was running on just 5 hours’ sleep. Add in the boiling hot temperatures, a few tears along the way, and a much-needed nap during the lunch break… it was certainly one to remember! 😅☀️😴
But when it mattered most, he dug deep, showed incredible determination, and came back fighting! 💪🏁
A brilliant P2 finish in the final at Wombwell Karting! 🥈 We couldn’t be prouder of your resilience, grit, and never-give-up attitude. What a drive! 💙💛

A huge thank you to all our friends and family who came along to support Alfie today. ❤️🏁
Having you there cheering him on means the world to him (and to us too!). 💙💛

🏁 Round 4 Race Report The Kart Championship 🏁

After what should have been a 3-hour journey turned into 4½ hours in scorching temperatures ☀️🥵, the race weekend certainly didn’t get off to the start we were hoping for.

The practice sessions were incredibly hot, and between sessions we did everything we could to stay cool. Dad was on towel duty, soaking makeshift towels in cold water to help keep the heat at bay! 🧊

Qualifying didn’t go to plan. I put the kart in the wrong position through the final corner on a couple of laps, meaning I could only qualify 28th 😞. It was disappointing, but it also meant I had plenty of work to do in the heats.

Heat 1 was much better. I stayed out of trouble, showed good pace and worked my way through to finish 19th.

Heat 2 With the heats you start where you qualify meaning I had to doing it all again. Another solid drive saw me finish 18th. 👊

🌧️ Super Heat 1 started positively. Lining up 19th, the track was wet on Sunday and I made a great start, avoiding an early incident and gaining places. Unfortunately, I was tagged into Hairpin 2 and spun, dropping me almost to the back. 😩 I kept my head down, fought back and finished 20th.

Super Heat 2 brought more bad luck. Another incident at Hairpin 1 forced me to take evasive action around the outside, allowing around eight karts to go up the inside. Once again, I dug deep 💪, raced hard and recovered to finish 20th.

🏁 Starting the Final from 19th, I got away brilliantly and thought my luck had finally changed. Unfortunately, I was pushed off the circuit through the chicane, only to find another kart already there, forcing me to lift and losing around eight places. 😖 Despite that, I stayed calm, pushed hard and matched the lap times of drivers much higher up the order. I fought my way back to finish 21st out of 32 of the best Honda drivers in the country. 👏🇬🇧

Overall, there are plenty of positives to take away. The pace was there all weekend, and although luck wasn’t on our side, it was another valuable learning experience. We’ll keep working, keep improving and come back stronger. 💪📈🏎️

Finally, I’d like to say a huge thank you to GRAPPOLO RESTAURANT for supporting me over the last few months. Your backing has meant a lot and has been a big part of my journey. ❤️ As this partnership comes to an end, I want to wish everyone at Grappolo all the very best for the future. Thank you for believing in me and being part of the journey. 🤝
➡️ On to the next one!
