During one of my recent gym visits, I met a woman whose life reminded me that there is no such thing as a perfect timeline.
She got married at sixteen. Yes, you read that right!
She spent five decades with her husband until he passed away.
A couple of years later, she found love again.
She’s now been married to her current husband for four years only for him to get stage four pancreatic cancer and is in palliative care as we speak.
She also shared with me how she became a grandmother at thirty-five and her first grandson is now forty-six years old! Almost my age mate! 😅
As she shared her story so candidly with me, I realized something very important.
So many of us spend our lives comparing our journey to everyone else’s.
We think we should have accomplished certain things by now.
Be further along by now.
More successful by now.
Have more things ticked off by now.
And the list goes on and on….
But what if your life is unfolding exactly as it needs to?
Life isn’t linear.
It isn’t one-size-fits-all.
Your timeline is not wrong simply because it looks different from what you hoped it would look like.
Your story is still being written and His plans for you are for good and not for evil, to give you a future and an expected end.
(Jeremiah 29:11)
Trust the God of your journey.
Keep hope alive!
