Fantastic day at this years Speedy Cup

On Saturday afternoon the Mayor and Mayoress attended the Speedy Cup event held on the Racecourse, Northampton.

This was the 16th annual Speedy Cup - it is a celebration of all things Irish and is dedicated to the memory of Patrick Hanraham, more affectionately known as Speedy to his friends and peers.

With live music by Keltic Fire, Irish Dancing, Funfair, Beer Tent, Food Van, Vintage Vehicles, Donkey Rides, Sheaf Throwing, Tombola, Gaelic Football, Children & Adult Races, Penalty Shoot-out, Tug of War, Hurling and Potato Picking Competition there was plenty for the the whole family.

All of the proceeds were split between Cynthia Spencer and the Mayor's Charity The Hope Centre Northampton. The Mayor and Mayoress would like to thank the Speedy Cup committee for the all of their hard work and dedication it was a wonderful day.
