BOOOOOOOOOMMMMM!!!! IIIIIIIIITSSSSSS THAAAAAAT TIIIIIIIIIMEEEEEEE OF THE WEEEEEEEKKKKKKK AGAINNNNNNN!!!! 💛🖤💚🤍🩷💙

Your first MavoftheMatch of the new season is in! For the Mavs lads, it was BradtheGKs penalty heroics and double save that ultimately saw us home, on the back of an excellent display sweeping up and getting us onto the front foot. Brad, our resident safe hands is sponsored once again this season by the amazing work 🐂🐂🐂

For the Udder Guys, a strong defensive performance, in which they were well organised and passed a threat of their own to Premier Division opponents was underpinned by the performance of who has taken to the side seamlessly since his summer move 🐄🐄🐄

For the Bullocks, their first competitive outing showed plenty of promise, and fine margins meant the result could have been very different, but the sharp saves of the returning kept the scores down and gave the boys belief of an unlikely shock for large parts.

Some strong showings and a good platform as eyes turn to our league openings tomorrow!

The new season is upon us and the Nene cup didn't disappoint! For the Mavs, a 🍌 skin only narrowly avoided after a dire showing against a dogged, hardworking and hungry Abington Reserves side (a last minute GK error tossing in a long throw) saw the boys progress on penalties to round two.💛🖤 The Udder Guys were resilient in large parts against their annual Prem opponents in a marked showing of their progress of the last 12 months.💚🤍 Meanwhile the gulf in league placings proved too much for the Bullocks boys as Oakley (and apparently whatever Saturday players they had in their phone book 😑🤷🏼‍♂️) proved too strong on opening day🩷💙

Plenty to work on, but definitely some positives for all to take into this week's return to league action.

For the Mavs lads it's back to Fortress Pastures to open up against an looking for an upset 🐂🐂🐂💛🖤 Meanwhile the other two sides head out on the road, the Udder Guys to Dally Park to face Prem opponents for the second year running, this year against Longboat FC 🐄🐄🐄💚🤍 Finally the Bullocks make their competitive debut against over on the dusty pit that is Lingswood Park hoping to upset the odds 🩷💙

A successful end to preseason for both sides last Sunday, tuning up nicely ahead of the big opener this weekend. The Mavs lads took on a competitive bunch from the roundabout country down the road and looked strong, organised and took our chances 🐂🐂🐂💛🖤 Meanwhile the Udder Guys pace and power told against our dear pals over at FC Boca as they continued their excellent preseason run.🐄🐄🐄💚🤍

Big time catch up too be done on the socials from everyone's favourite media club (no AI contribution to this f*cking drought either!) as the gaffers head was up his arse all week.

Starting with results from the Sunday before last. The Mavs lads with somewhat depleted ranks battled hard and again created chances but the clinical nature of Abington FC meant they won the quickly established Derby! Meanwhile the Udder Guys and the Bullocks played out a right humdinger of a game that swung one way then the other with the Udders coming out on top.

A morning double dose of action for the boys today. As the Udder Guys take a week off to nurse some injured calves, the Mavs lads head down to Spencer Mill to take on the new incarnation of our old friends in what promises to be another classic. 🐂🐂💛🖤

Meanwhile the Bullocks boys continue their preseason development with a game against another side new to the Nene this year . Will today be the day the boys get their first result on the board? 🐄🐄💚🤍

Mixed bag of results last Sunday.

Injuries and some ill discipline (plus the predictable outcome of letting your club chairman's son ref a game), plus missing enough chances to win four games, saw the Mavs take a thumping from a very capable Weekley Titans.🐂🐂💛🖤 The Udder Guys had no such trouble, in a fully dominant display against a side who last season were 2 divisions above them. 🐄🐄💚🤍 Meanwhile for the Bullocks, the learnings continue as David Green Reserves took home the victory, but again with plenty of positives on display. 🐮🐮🩷💙

The whole herd is back in action today and the boys are buzzing!!

First up the Mavs return to action at KBA on the 4G to take on a Weekley Rovers Titans FC that impressed whenever we saw them last year, and who we anticipate we will be facing when league action returns! 🐂🐂🐂💛🖤

Meanwhile the Bullocks boys make the journey over to Wellingborough OGs to take on a David Green United FC: Reserves side that caused the Udders some problems last week at times, hoping to put down a marker and signal of intent for the year ahead 🐮🐮🐮🩷💙

Then this afternoon we have some Sunday lunchtime football back at our preseason base camp at Spencer Mill as the second part of our Weekley double header concludes with the Udder Guys, in good form, up against our old friends Weekley Rovers FC 🐄🐄🐄💚🤍

With the Mavs lads getting a rare weekend off, the focus shifted to two away trips for the other boys.

For the Udder Guys, a dominant performance made it two out of two and stretched their unbeaten run further still in what was a classic preseason encounter! 🐄🐄🐄💚🤍 Meanwhile, experience told as a classy Higham Vets outfit made their control count against the Bullocks, but plenty of encouraging signs again that when it clicks for this group there's a good nucleus to build from and results will come 🐮🐮🐮🩷💙
