11U County Cup | Day 2 🎾

More competitive tennis today for the Northamptonshire girls and boys, with plenty of great performances and fighting spirit on display throughout the day. 👏

Boys 🎾
The boys were involved in two hard-fought matches, narrowly losing to Derbyshire in a shootout after drawing 3-3, before a 4-2 defeat against group winners Lincolnshire.

It was a really positive weekend overall, with every player enjoying success in both singles and doubles and producing some very impressive performances along the way. 👏

Girls 🎾
The girls battled hard against strong opposition, falling 1-5 to Durham & Cleveland, with Matilda securing the team’s win.

They then finished the weekend with a competitive 2-4 loss against Staffordshire, showing great determination and resilience throughout.

A fantastic effort from both teams, who represented Northamptonshire brilliantly all weekend. Well done everyone! 👏🎾

🎾 11U County Cup | Day 1 🎾

A busy and exciting opening day for our 11U County Cup teams!

👦 Boys
The boys narrowly lost 4-2 to North Wales in a match that could have gone either way, with three heartbreaking match tie-break defeats proving the difference.

They bounced back brilliantly with a 4-2 victory over Staffordshire, with every player getting wins on the board and producing some excellent tennis throughout the day. 💪

Tomorrow brings matches against Derbyshire and table-toppers Lincolnshire. Good luck, team! 🍀

👧 Girls
A thrilling start for the girls against Leicestershire in a match that went right down to the wire!

With the scores locked at 3-3, it all came down to a decisive shootout, where the Northants girls held their nerve to secure a fantastic victory. 👏🔥

This weekend, the Northants 11U teams are in County Cup action at Caunton Lawn Tennis Club (girls) and Stourbridge Lawn Tennis Club (boys).

🎾 Calling Female Tennis & Padel Coaches 🎾
Are you currently pregnant or have young children? We want to hear from you.
We’ve partnered with the Women in Sport Research and Innovation Hub at Loughborough University to better understand how this stage of life is experienced by female tennis and padel coaches—and what support could make a real difference.
We’re looking for self-employed coaches where coaching is your main source of income to take part in the research. You can choose to join:
✅ A 1:1 interview (45–60 minutes)
or
✅ A small online discussion group (60–75 minutes)
Both options offer a supportive, confidential space to share your experiences and help shape future support for coaches across the sport.

🎾 FREE Walking Tennis Activator Training Session 🎾

Interested in introducing Walking Tennis at your club?

In partnership with the Bedfordshire Open Court Tennis Programme, we're delighted to offer a FREE Walking Tennis Activator Training Session.

📅 Tuesday 28th July
🕡 6:30pm – 8:30pm
📍 Sharnbrook Lawn Tennis Club

This practical on-court workshop is ideal for:
✅ Club volunteers
✅ Coaches
✅ Anyone interested in starting a Walking Tennis programme
✅ Existing Walking Tennis activators looking to share ideas and learn from others

🏆 Clubs attending will have the opportunity to apply for a starter equipment pack to help launch their Walking Tennis programme and may also be eligible for county funding support.
