🎾 12U County Cup | 12–13 Sept

This weekend, the Northants 12U teams will be competing in the final County Cup event of the year.

The boys are playing in Division 2B at Stourbridge, while the girls are in Division 2E at Grantham.

🎾 From Northampton to Wimbledon! 🌱➡️🍓

Northamptonshire has a new name to shout about. Fourteen-year-old Oskar, who began his tennis journey right here in the county, was one of just 16 boys in the world invited to compete in the Boys' 14 & Under event at Wimbledon 2026 held during The Championships itself, on the same grass as the professionals.

We caught up with Oskar to look back on an unforgettable Wimbledon experience, hear more about his training and find out what advice he has for the next generation of young players. 🎾👏

From starting his tennis journey in Northamptonshire to competing on the grass at the All England Club, it’s a fantastic story!

The on-court session will focus on technical development with junior players, primarily within the red and orange stages. By the end of the session, coaches will have a better understanding of how to optimise long-term technical development, ensuring technique does not limit future potential and always integrates closely with desired tactical outcomes and playing the game of tennis.

A great opportunity to develop your coaching knowledge, pick up practical ideas to take back on court and connect with fellow coaches from across the county. 🎾

Join this FREE on-court training session designed for tennis coaches of all levels, club volunteers, and anyone working with disabled people or community organisations.

🎾🏆 What a week of county championship tennis!

Six days, plenty of brilliant tennis and a whole host of new champions were crowned at the 2026 Northamptonshire County Tennis Championships! 👏

⭐ Some of the highlights:

🏆 Joshua claimed the Men’s Singles title
🏆 Evangeline won the Women’s Singles and finished the week with three titles
🔥 Daniel also collected an impressive three titles
👏 Mya completed a fantastic week with the 16U & 18U Girls Singles and 18U Girls Doubles titles
💪 Corey, Alfie, Olivia and David were among our other multiple champions
🎾 And there were some fantastic battles along the way, including Jack edging Corey in a championship tie-break in the 16U Boys final!

A special mention too for Konstantin, who was presented with the Kevin Hoey Memorial Trophy. ❤️

A HUGE thank you to officials Laura, Bridget and Connor, all our helpers, scorers and volunteers, and Northampton County Lawn Tennis Club for once again being fantastic hosts. 🙌

And, of course, congratulations to every player who competed and made it such a brilliant week of tennis! 👏🎾

If you have a daughter aged 10+ who can play full-court tennis, we’d love her to join us for our Girls Only Tennis Day! 🙌

Taking place at Northampton County Lawn Tennis Club and delivered in collaboration with our proud sponsors Turner & Townsend, it’s a FREE day of tennis designed to get girls playing, making friends and enjoying time on court together. ❤️🎾
