Another great session at Weston Super Mare ABC this evening with the gym packed out again and a few new faces through the doors 👊

Some quality sparring rounds tonight as well, and some good sparring for McKinley and Zay. Although Zay is far more experienced, it’s great to see him able to work in a very controlled way that helps other boxers learn and improve . That sort of attitude is massive for a boxing club, so thank you Zay 👏🥊

Last night’s boxing outing was definitely a bit of a rollercoaster for the team who travelled to cinderford.

Unfortunately Finley’s opponent came in overweight at the weigh-in, meaning Finley was unable to compete despite all the hard work and preparation that had gone in. A frustrating one, but we go again.

Jayden stepped in for his debut and started brilliantly, coming out strong and looking in control early on. Sadly, after picking up an injury in the first round, the doctor had to stop the contest resulting in a no contest. Wishing Jayden a speedy recovery because he showed plenty of promise.

Ellison and Zay both narrowly lost out in tough bouts, but both gave absolutely everything and represented the club with pride. Plenty to build on moving forward.

The highlight of the night was Mason winning on his debut for the club with a superb performance against a very tall opponent. Mason found things difficult in the opening minute and was getting picked off at range, but he quickly worked his opponent out, started getting on the inside and landed some brilliant overhand shots that really changed the fight. A strong, composed performance and a well deserved win.

Win, lose or draw we keep learning, improving and moving forward together. Proud of every boxer that stepped through the ropes last night 👊🥊

🥊 Celebrating Volunteers Week ⬛️🟨

As we come to the end of Volunteers Week, we want to take a moment to remember and celebrate some very special people who gave so much to our boxing club over the years and are unfortunately no longer with us.

These volunteers helped build the club, support generations of boxers, and created the community spirit that still lives on today. Their time, dedication and passion will never be forgotten.
