How running 50-70km a week made me put on 7kg in 8 weeks
Last year I was training for an ultra marathon. Never mentioned it once.
And while I never made the start line (cheers, injury đ), training taught me something that totally blindsided me.
Running makes you ravenous.
After long runs I wasnât reaching for salads I was eating everything in sight, convinced Iâd earned it.
And I was massively overestimating my calorie burn.
10km feels like it should torch 1000 calories. Itâs closer to 500. Meanwhile the hunger had me eating back double.
Running is great for your mind, your fitness, your health. But if weight loss is your goal? Itâs one of the least efficient tools you can use.
What actually works is a strategy built around your nutrition and your lifestyle.
