💪CONSISTENCY V MOTIVATION 💪

Being consistent beats motivation every time. Motivation comes and goes – some days you feel unstoppable, other days you’d rather lie on the couch. That’s normal. What really gets results is showing up anyway.

🔸️It’s the workouts you do when you don’t feel like it.
🔸️It’s choosing the better option most of the time, not all of the time.
🔸️It’s sticking to the plan even when progress feels slow.
🔸️It's coming home, shattered after a day's work but still doing a 20 minute walk or workout.
🔸️It's making the healthy choice and not the unhealthy choice
➡️You don’t need to be perfect. You just need to be consistent.
🔹️Small actions, repeated week after week, are what build strength, improve fitness, and create lasting change.

So if you’re having one of those “off” days today…
➡️ Do something, not nothing
➡️ Show up, even if it’s not your best
➡️ Keep the habit going
Your future self will thank you for it 🙌

❤️ Have a happy and healthy weekend ❤️

What a difference a year makes 💪

Couldn't be prouder of Jodie. The effort she puts in at every workout is outstanding.

And as the saying goes, the proof is in the pudding. Check out the comparison videos below ⤵️

The top one is Jodie in the gym just over a year ago. And the bottom one is last week.

The difference in Jodie's movement is plain to see. Jodie's body has much more flexibility in the bottom video. Her upper body is stronger and she is therefore able to put much more effort into it.

Comparison videos are great to show Jodie how much she has progressed and how well she is doing. They help to encourage and motivate Jodie.

Well done Jodie 👏
Onwards and upwards is the only way to go 💪❤️

❤️ Step into your 40's and 50's with ease ❤️

As we move through our 40's and 50's, our bodies start to shift. We hit perimenopause, then we hit menopause, then we have the after effects of all of it - lack of sleep, low energy, weight gain, body changes, feeling more anxious and stressed.
Coming from someone who has been through it all and survived 😃 I know how hard it can be. Some days you just want to lie under your duvet and hope someone will wave a magic wand over you to revitalise you. Your hormones change, your metabolism slows, and what used to work might not anymore 😞

But here’s the truth : you just need to be a little bit smarter in the foods you eat and the things you do 💪

Focus on foods that fuel you —
🥩 Protein to protect your muscles and bones, and to help make you feel fuller for longer
🥑 Healthy fats to balance your hormones
🥦 Fibre-rich veggies to keep your digestion happy
💧 Plenty of water to keep your energy levels up and bloating down

It’s not about restricting what you eat. Don't skip meals to reduce calories. Instead think about replenishing your body.
Your body is changing, and it deserves support, not punishment.
If you put some work into keeping your body happy then your body will keep working for you, just the way you want it to.

So don't just guess what to eat or feel you are stuck with your midlife weight gain. Be smarter about the types of foods you eat. Make a plan. Use the knowledge you have, or talk to a professional to find out about proteins, fats and carbs. Then organise your week, your shopping and plan your daily meals.

🍇Enjoy the changes that you feel in your body when you eat food that gives you energy.
🚶‍♀️Enjoy the changes in your mind when you go out walks every day.
💪Feel strong, nourished and confident at every stage of your life.

🥳Reaching 40 should be fun.
💃Hitting your 50's should be fabulous.

So -
🚶‍♀️if you feel your body starting to ache when you run, then walk instead.
🏋‍♀️If you can't keep up with your old fitness class then find a new one at the level that suits you.
🧎‍♀️ if you feel less mobile than you used to, start doing more stretches or join a yoga class to keep your body flexible.
🧘‍♀️ if you feel more anxious or stressed make sure you make time for you - read a book, practice being more mindful, spend time with your loved ones.

❤️ Confidence doesn’t have an age limit. So taking a small positive step each day ensures you feel confident and positive at every stage of your life ❤️

✨ Thursdays thoughts ✨

❤️ Listen to your own advice ❤️

Ever find yourself giving out brilliant advice to others —
“Be kind to yourself.”
“Don’t skip your workouts.”
“Fuel your body, not just feed it.”
“Progress, not perfection.”

… then completely ignore it when it comes to YOU?

We’ve all been there. 🙋‍♀️

But here’s the truth:
The advice you so easily give to others? You deserve to follow it too.

I often harp on to people how important it is to take time to yourself. Just relax and do something you enjoy. But sometimes I find I am not really listening to my own advice.

Over the last couple of weeks I've enjoyed taking the time to read, relax, swim or just chill with a coffee. It's been a good reminder to myself that I need to take care of me and do things that I enjoy.

So today’s reminder is simple:
🎉Treat yourself like someone you truly care about.
🎉Hold yourself to the same standard you set for your best friend.
🎉Encourage yourself like you do your kids, your clients, your loved ones.

Because you’re not just worth the advice…
You're worth the follow-through.

❤️ Have yourself a chilled out Thursday ❤️

❤️ Fill your life with new experiences

At my stage of life, it's not about chasing things — it’s about collecting moments.

Live in the present. Enjoy every experience. Take time for yourself ❤️

Experiences can be as small or as big as you like. Do something you've never done before

💃 Dance in the kitchen.
🌿 Take that solo walk and breathe deep.
💪 Try a new workout that challenges you.
🌸 Say yes to time with people who make you laugh.
🌍 Travel, explore, try, grow.

I love the time I give to others. But sometimes I do forget to give time to myself. Taking time out to just relax and enjoy life is revitalising me - giving me energy and allowing me to experience new things.

Make sure you take time to fill your life with experiences that light you up, build your strength, and refresh your energy .

You’re never too old to enjoy collecting new moments. The best chapters are still being written. 📖❤️

"If you’re afraid to take that leap, just remember that you can return to that life you knew.
But if you never take that chance, you might miss out on the life you've always dreamed of"

People are sometimes afraid to move on, take that chance, try something new or something different. That fear can prevent you from living that dream or having that sense of achievement.

It can be something small. Like in the first picture below. I remember standing at that obstacle at tough mudder and debating whether to jump into the pool in front of me and swim under the cages or just walk round and not attempt it. I remember that sense of fear. I'm not sure why, because in years gone by I wouldn't even have thought about it. But I decided just to go for it and once I did, I wanted to do it again 😅. But if I didn't enjoy it, I could have jumped out halfway through it.

Or it can be something big. Like in the 2nd picture below where I stand proudly wearing my Ferrifit t shirt. Taking a leap in my early 50's to change my career and become a Personal Trainer was a huge decision for me. I remember debating with myself whether I was doing the right thing and what if it didn't work out for me. I faced the challenge with fear but also with excitement and determination to succeed. Obviously I have never regretted taking that leap. But if it didn't work out I would have gone back to my life as I knew it.

Life is about setting yourself challenges and by setting yourself challenges you will be faced with fear at times. But you can also have a great sense of achievement. Take a look in a mirror and tell yourself, "I can do this". And if it doesn't go as planned, always remember that you have faced your fear and you can return to that life you knew.

❤️ Have a fun Friday and a wonderful weekend ❤️

'Falling down is part of life
Getting up is living'

Our lives are always full of ups and downs. Sometimes when they are so full of downs we feel like we will never have any ups again.

When we do have down times in life, it's important that we know that this time will pass and we will have up times again.

So when you do have down days, make sure you enjoy those fleeting moments of joy. It could be a sunny day or a chat with a good friend. It could be laughing out loud at a comedy on the TV or having a laugh with other people. Or it could be going out a walk and breathing in the fresh air or going to the gym and getting some feel good endorphins after a good workout or a class. Or it could be completing a tough mudder with you sister 😃

Always remember that when you feel down, you are not alone. Allow yourself to cry or to feel sad. Then have a think about what you can do to help alter your mood.

Sometimes we just need to take a deep breath and move the sadness to one side for a bit and allow happiness to take over.

We will all have times in our life where we fall down and feel the world on our shoulders. But make sure you have things in place that can help you get back up and get living again.

❤️❤️

💪What have you done over this last week to be proud of?
🥳What have you achieved over the last year that you didn't think you would?
🥰What are you planning to do today to take you a step further to reach your goals?

♥️Why not take a moment to pause and remind yourself of how proud you are with your achievements.

Whether you’ve lifted heavier weights, done that home workout, showed up for the gym when u didn't feel like it, walked a little further than the day before, made a healthier choice (eg, protein over pastry), or simply got up in the morning when you wanted to lie longer in your bed — it all matters.

Too often we rush from one goal to the next without recognising how far we’ve come. Take a breath and look back… You’ve made progress. And that deserves to be celebrated. 🎉

💬 What’s one thing you’re proud of this week? I'm proud that I achieved the tough mudder course (with a dodgy ankle, I might add 🤣)

♥️ Have a wonderful Wednesday ♥️

Well today is a new month so why not make that a good excuse to get started on your journey.

Set yourself goals. Write them down and tick them off at the end of each day.

Give yourself permission to make time for yourself and don't feel guilty spending time doing something that is just for you.

Take a Moment to Reflect on YOU

In the hustle of life, we often forget to pause and check in with ourselves. But reflection is key to growth—physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Ask yourself: 🔹 Am I prioritizing my health? 🔹 Am I fueling my body with the right nutrition? 🔹 Am I moving in a way that makes me feel strong and energized? 🔹 Am I giving myself the grace to rest and recover when needed?

Growth isn’t just about pushing harder; it’s about understanding where you are and where you want to go. Every small effort you make is shaping the stronger, healthier version of YOU.

Take a moment today to reflect, reset, and keep moving forward. Your journey is yours—own it! 💪
