Race Weekend Report – Round 1 & 2 | Knockhill 🏁
The buzz and excitement were in full swing from the moment we arrived on Saturday morning. We kicked things off with a wet warm-up session on wet tyres, with the weather keeping us guessing early on. Thankfully, the sun made an appearance, allowing us to switch to slicks for our first proper test/warm-up session of the year.
After a disrupted test weekend a fortnight ago, it was great for the team to finally get some solid track time and start dialing things in. With a few adjustments and a solid briefing, we made good progress heading into qualifying — securing P7 on the grid for Race 1.
Race 1 was all about getting back into the rhythm, feeling out the conditions on a drying track, and we brought it home in P7. Race 2 followed a similar story, finishing P7 again, with plenty of smiles and some great on-track battles — especially with Colvin, who kept things entertaining! It was also brilliant to watch the front runners putting in some fast times readying them selfs for the Isle of Man and British championship .
A huge congratulations to all the winners over the weekend. It was fantastic to be back in the paddock, catching up with everyone and enjoying the atmosphere again and for those who couldn’t make it hopefully see you at east fortune.
Sunday brought mixed conditions, starting slightly damp in the morning warm-up. In Race 3, we ran into an issue with a fairing fixing, forcing us to ease off and bring it home safely for points. In Race 4, things really started to click — we set our fastest time of the weekend and showed strong progression with the outfit. Despite high winds and early signs of clutch slip in the opening laps, the pace and potential were clear.
Overall, plenty of positives to take away — smiles all round, valuable lessons learned, and a strong foundation to build on.
Now it’s all eyes on Rounds 3 & 4 in a fortnight. Looking forward to seeing everyone back in the paddock — and hopefully a bit more sunshine so we can really lay some rubber down at East Fortune!
