It’s only taken a second lockdown to finally hang a rope up in the only high enough place - a tree outside ! 🙏⁣

( slightly pleased it held my weight after the first rope climb hence the look of surprise 😂)⁣

If you are still feeling the outdoor training, but don’t have a rope to hang ...⁣ Take a towel⁣ Find a branch that’s sturdy enough or monkey bars⁣ Put the towel over the branch and pull up to your chest with one hand above the other and switch.

Run buddy sorted 😂 ⁣

He tugs on the lead, trips me up and lags behind when the pace is too fast- perfect.⁣

Our workout today was a 60 minute run with every three minutes 30 lunges, thanks to / .

Mine was scaled to 30 minutes. Scale to walking, scale the time or add something in if your feeling it. ⁣
Just because it isn’t a barbell or some lovely gymnastic movements, doesn’t mean that the body doesn’t need a little step back depending on what you have been doing over the last week 🧡⁣

Very much looking forward to the coming time, to stay in touch with my body and training and do what feels good, makes sense to me and more than anything that I absolutely 100% enjoy ! ⁣

When there’s so many options there can sometimes be the pressure and the personal need to feel like you have to do. There’s a chance now, to feel out what could bring you similar benefits in other ways, based upon what you feel. ⁣

Moving for you vs how we feel we should move. Feel it out, see what works and above all whatever brings a smile to your face seems like the right direction ....

Finally made it back on the mat, albeit slightly different with the measures in place, but then what isn’t different because of 2020 😂⁣

I realised that it was almost the same time that I had spent on the mat as I had off ( almost 8years...) turned out to be the kick up the ass to get back into it and to try somewhere new out of the dojo that I spent so long apart of.⁣ Thank you guys for being so welcoming and making what you do so accessible.

Something that relates so easily, as most things with martial arts do, to off the mat. ⁣

⁣⁣ Those with a fear of water getting in cautiously, to jumping out with the biggest smile seen to man!⁣⁣
⁣⁣ To those who thought they would get there and turn straight back around, yet did it anyway and stayed for even longer.⁣⁣

Swimming in cold water does have many benefits and has gained much more media attention recently, but further than the physiological benefits it can have beautiful psychological benefits. Although those benefits are usually specific to the person who gets in.⁣⁣

That is what can make this so special, it’s a community but also a private practice. ⁣⁣

There are no changing rooms, so make sure if you are coming along that you have a BIG towel! ⁣

Other things that can make getting out of the cold water a little easier :⁣ Easy to slide on shoes for when those fingers feel a little chilly⁣ Big warm socks ⁣ Loose fitting clothes ⁣ A big jacket or hot water bottle if you want a personal hug to yourself when you are all finished⁣

Training solo but still wanting the intensity ...

This was an absolute lovely one :
3 rounds
500m ski / I subbed for bike
5 OHS 22.5kg DB
10 power sn**ch 22.5kg DB

To get through this instead of waiting and looking at the DB thinking this is going to hurt, I set myself little targets...
First one - push the last minute of the bike hard.
Second one - get straight off the bike and pick up the DB

Sometimes it’s easier to stick to those little targets, but having them can be the difference between pushing and just moving. Each have a place of course. I had to push today ⁣😂

Working out where you were supposed to wear a wedding dress 😂🙌🏽⁣

Last week we were beyond lucky to get to welcome the .cancer team to . These guys usually have 2 huge events where teams can raise money for their chosen cancer charity, although this year in covid style they took to the road to still raise money but in a 2020 friendly way. ⁣

It was an absolute pinch me moment getting to see the barns which are normally full of weddings utilised for fitness- a HUGE silver lining to postponing our wedding 🧡 ⁣

Even more so to see the members and itself be party to raising money for fitness and health to become more accessible for those who may benefit the most from it. It’s been the focus to provide this through ForestFlow from the beginning and it is flourishing into reality as we speak.⁣

If you or a loved one is moving through any challenging physical or emotional situations at the moment and are hoping for some support through movement and mindfulness please keep your eyes open in the coming weeks. Soon we will be able to bring together & it’s beautiful surroundings to hopefully help 🧡⁣

Finding the ‘impossible is possible ‘

Highlights what we perceive as hard or impossible is only that, a perception not fact. A perception that’s there to be changed.

Although sometimes that perception can be and feel stubborn, maybe ask yourself What is this giving me ( often safety in the norm ) What would I like to perceive is possible ...

To choose to move past what you feel isn’t. Because anything’s possible if you believe it is 🧡
