We are very pleased to be hosting our Red Kite 3D (incorporating the NI 3D Championships) at Ballywalter Park in June. This should be 2 days of enjoyable competition in a welcoming environment.

This will be a World Archery Status event and we are looking forward to 2 days - 48 targets, some familiar, some not so familiar, and some to get you thinking, for what we hope will be a challenging and enjoyable 3D archery competition in the woods of Ballywalter Park. Whether shooting for medals, looking for a personal best or out to enjoy the 3D experience, we look forward to seeing you in June.

I would personally like to thank the Archery NI committee, for the manner and integrity in which they conducted themselves and the effort they put into taking on the challenge of archery in NI. It was always going to be a difficult role but in endeavouring to carry out your responsibilities you did so within the values and principles of AGB. Wish you every success in your future archery endeavours.
It will be interesting.to observe how archery in NI will now develop.

Thank you to everyone who turned out to support our Colum Cille 3D Shoot. Colum Cille was obviously pleased as he blessed us with no rain over the 2 days. Hope everyone enjoyed the shoot and are now ready for Carraig Wood in 2 weeks time. The bunnies send their apologies for ducking a few times!

This year we are slightly changing the format of the shoot. We will not be awarding medals in each of the shooting categories. Rather, we are going to focus on learning and progression and award medal/badges to reflect this. The same course will be set on the Saturday and the Sunday (full 24 target course within WA parameters) with the purpose of archers trying to learn from and improve on their Saturday performance. Scores will still be uploaded to IANSEO for archers who maybe using the AGB Field awards
As it will have been a while since archers may have shot a 3D competition the shoot will be a good opportunity for experienced and less experienced archers to shoot the course on day 1 and to review and set their marks and crawls, distance estimation etc. The second day they can shoot the same course and be in a position to learn from day 1 and make any necessary adjustments. This will provide a platform for archers preparing for the WA Buttercup 3D in April and the WA Red Kite 3D Northern Ireland Championships in June as well as allowing others to enjoy 2 days of 3D shooting.

I would like to thank club Members who delivered our current Beginners course for giving of their time and skills, to introduce and develop the basic skills of archery for a group of aspiring archers. Beginners courses are an important aspect of our club programme, in introducing people to archery while promoting and developing important links in the community.
I would also like to thank Bangor and District Archery Club for assisting with the use of their venue and hope that both clubs will benefit from the addition of aspiring archers into the archery community.
