Fairway restoration work well under way.
The nine poorest fairways at KCGC, were extremely damaged from last summers heat wave. In most cases 90% meadow grass coverage, bare areas, hydrophobic and compacted soil.
The restoration process began with spraying Iron (fe) @ 10kgs (per h), Ammonia @ 5kgs (per h) and 5 litres (per h) of weedkiller.
A 649 Toro fwy mower with sacrifing heads was hired in to do alot of aggressive scarifying removing as much of the poor rootzone as possible. Next week the process moves onto overseeding using a vredo 35mm disc spacing seeder, 2 tonnes of fresh barenburg grass seed to be stiched in @ a rate of 30g per m2. Finally 250 tonnes of topdressing sand to complete the process. Exciting times, with alot of hard work from the course manager and his Greensteam, will keep the updates comming as the process moves forward.

Morning folks. Ive got a toro MDX buggy purchased new late 2016 and within a yr and less than 400hrs the clutch began to fail. I immediately took this up with my toro sales rep it took them a further 7 months to finally come back to me to say its not covered under the two year warrenty and it is a wear item, i was obviously very dissapointed not only with thier answer but the level of service i received. I took this on the chin however i rescently learned in the last fortnight that another gc in Scotland bought three MDX buggies at a similar time and had the same issue and after some negotiating Toro replaced the three clutches free of charge and increased there warrenty by a year. I have email evidance of this which i have now handed to my Toro rep awaiting a reply, i would like to know if anyone else has had this issue??

Winter course development well under way at KCGC with three tees being redeveloped and fully irrigated. Also a new revetted pathway going in it never stops 💪

Delighted to finally see a sizeable downpour 15mm through the early hours this morning although the ground was a wee bit hard to soak it up lol
