Welcome to Northern Ireland's biggest and most successful weightlifting club. We've over 20 years experience, coaching to suit all ages and abilities, as well as a track record of success that just cant be matched. From ages 5 to 500, we've got you covered, and from day 1 to the world stage. We provide coaching for all, in a great inlcusive and welcoming atmosphere to everyone. Having you feel at home from your first day here is something we take pride in. If you fancy even more, we provide strength and conditioning for a multitude of sports, coached and programmed by our professional coaches, who've walked the walk, competing at world level, setting records along the way, and who are industry recognised and certified experts in their fields. Top quality coaching, education and training is only one visit away.

✨ FISU World University Championships 2026 ✨

We are all incredibly proud of who represented Ireland this month at the World University Championships in Doha.

This competition took an almost 10 year hiatus and we are delighted to see it back on the calendar and even more thrilled that as a recent graduate of the University of Ulster, Abby was selected for the event.

Finishing with 5/6 lifts, Abby smashed PBs across the board to total 190kg (81/109kg)!

✨12th European Union Weightlifting Cup, Bobrov, Slovakia ✨

Congratulations to Brody who was selected as part of the Irish Team for this development International event.

Brody had a great competition after a speedy turnaround from Europeans, finishing with 109kg sn**ch and 133kg Clean and Jerk (PB).

The Asylum Powerlifting Squad squad is ready to represent Northern Ireland Powerlifting at 2026 Commonwealth Powerlifting Championships from the 17th - 27th September 2026 in Winnipeg, Canada! We are proud to say that we are representing NIPF across a range of age classes, as a majority of the coaching team, and as the entirety of the equipped team!

Thank you to Neil Dougan for his continued support with coaching and programming. We would not be in the position we are now without your guidance and mentorship.

Good luck to Brody Neely, who will represent Asylum Weightlifting Club and team Ireland in Kosovo at the European Youth Weightlifting Championships

Brody will compete in the 85kg A Group this coming Tuesday, stepping onto the European stage against some of the best young lifters in the sport.

Incredible news for all the NI athletes,
Were incredibly privileged to have supported so many of teamni across this qualification and beyond.

You should all be extremely proud of taking a spot in the hardest and most demanding qualification process our sport has had to date for the games.

Everyone who started this journey put in the work against an ever increasing standard, and we're so very proud of everyone who gave their all in the process, and we're delighted for those of the team who ultimately got the spots for Glasgow.
