1st Bangor Football Club, formerly known as 1st Bangor Old Boys FC, is a Northern Irish football club playing in the Northern Amateur Football League. The club was founded in 1967, and joined the Amateur League in 1979, winning the Junior Cup in the same season.

A man whose passion, pride, and dedication helped build not just a football club, but a community, a spirit, and a family that lives on today.
Ken, your love for the game and your club never faded from the touchline to the training ground, from every handshake to every word of encouragement, you left a mark that will never be forgotten.
Even now, your legacy stands strong, in every match played, every young player inspired, and in the very home you helped shape, so proudly remembered and honoured in your name.

1st Bangor are happy to announce their 2nd signing of the season, Jamie Craig. This one’s no stranger to The Drome, having previously played for the club.

Jamie is a talented full back / wing back, but is equally as comfortable in midfield. He has a super left foot, a great crosser of the ball, and has an eye for goal.

Jamie’s previous clubs are 1st Bangor, Abbey Villa and Shorts.

He was also part the NI Fire Brigade team that won the British Cup

New Signing

The club are absolutely delighted to welcome Matty Lee back to the club!

Matty is certainly no stranger, to the club, or Jackie, having previously captained 1st Bangor, and having been a major part of Jackie’s Ards Rangers side for a number of years.

Matty is a super midfielder, with unparalleled energy and drive and is held in high esteem by team mates and opponents.

Before taking a year out in Australia, Matty represented the Rosebowl team, which was a super achievement.

Matty has also played for Ards, Knocbreda and Ards Rangers.

1st Bangor Management announcement for the forthcoming season.

We are delighted to add Jordan Barnett and Matty Torrens to the 1st Bangor management team.

Jordan is no stranger to the club having previously coached at the club a number of years ago. He was also part of Jackie’s coaching staff at Ards Rangers for 3 years.

He has also coached at Ards, Linfield, Glentoran and Larne, and will be a super asset to the club.

Matty Torrens is also no stranger to the club, having previously played for the club. Matty is taking his first steps in a coaching role, his experience from his playing career, with Ards, Bangor, Queens, and Ards Rangers will give him a super foundation to start his journey.

Sammy (the Dog) Wallace joins the management team, having retired after a superb season, which helped the team to a 9th place finish last year.

1st Bangor FC 2 vs Finaghy FC 1

1st Bangor FC Finish Season in Style.
A sunny evening at Londonderry Park provided the perfect backdrop as 1st Bangor FC secured all three points against Finaghy FC to finish the season on a high.
The visitors struck first to take a 1-0 lead, putting the home side on the back foot early on. However, 1st Bangor responded in style before the interval, with Jake Seaton producing a moment of real quality smashing a 20-yard free kick into the top corner to send the sides in level at 1-1 at half-time.
The second half started brightly, with both teams pushing for a decisive second goal. It was the home side who found the breakthrough, as Owen Donaldson capitalised on a goalkeeping error, calmly slotting into an empty net with 20 minutes remaining.
That goal proved to be the winner, sealing all three points for
1st Bangor and ensuring they ended the season on a positive note.

A huge thank you to all of our players for their hard work, commitment and attitude throughout the year. From training in every weather condition to giving everything on match days, every player should be proud of what you have achieved this year!

To all the Supporters & Families, thank you for the encouragement and for cheering for the team from the sidelines and continued support each week, we couldn’t do it without you! πŸ–€

And finally, thank you to the amazing committee, coaches and volunteers who all give up so much time behind the scenes to keep the club running. It’s not just about turning up on a Saturday and supporting it’s the hard work throughout Monday - Friday so thank you πŸ–€
