Ophir RFC would like to extend our deepest condolences to our established player and much-loved club member, Niall Dornan, following the sad passing of his father on 3rd September after a short illness.

Niall has been part of the Ophir family for over 10 years, joining the club at U12 level.

As a mark of respect and support for Niall and his family, the club held a minute’s silence before our 1st XV game with Holywood, followed by the piping on of the team.

Our thoughts are with Niall, his family and friends at this very difficult time.

After a full week of training and a tough session this morning, the Ophir Men’s squad got some much-needed recovery in at Giants Recovery, Maghera.

A big thanks to Bronagh, owner of Giants Recovery, for looking after the lads and helping the team get ready for another big week of pre-season. 👏

The work continues as we build towards Pre-Season Game 2 vs Civil Service next Saturday.
