Congratulations to Jude who has reached the District 1 Ladies Singles Final in Brora next Saturday (4th July).

In tonight’s semi at Aviemore she defeated Alex McInnes of St Ninian 21-14 in a very entertaining encounter.

We entertained bowling club tonight in our 2nd league match this season. In glorious conditions the visitors were victorious 6-2 (66-46).

Summer eventually arrived at NBC for our annual challenge match with Pitlochry Bowling Club for the Shepherd’s Trophy. We were victorious winning 3 of the 4 triples matches by 66 shots to 48. That means NBC extend their lead overall 15-11 for the trophy which was introduced in 1997. Photo of the highest winning NBC trio of James, Chris and Davy.

We started our league campaign tonight with a home match v Grantown Bowling Club. The weather stayed fair (just) and no midges (just). All 4 rink games were close but we managed to win all 4 by 57 shots to 41.

Thanks to Grantown for an enjoyable match, Doreen for the catering, Davy and Callum for green preparation and Richard for having the green in an excellent playing condition.

An extremely early start (pre 6am) for this pair today as they represented Newtonmore & Bowling Club at the Alan Michie Scottish Under 16 pairs championships at Grangemouth today. After victories in their first three matches they can unstuck in match 4 and just failed to make the knockout stages.

Many thanks to the parents for transport duties and a great effort boys. Hope you enjoyed it and can go further next time.

Tonight we held our first one night event of the season with the MacDonald Cup Triples. 4 teams took part and the winning team on the night who remained unbeaten in all 3 games were Jean Slimon, Irene Macbean and James Whelan.

Today we hosted the annual Elaine Chisholm Rinks Memorial Trophy. The weather was good and great to see so many non members taking part. The spider winner was Greg Chisholm. The victorious quartet were: Carter Chisholm, Finlay Chisholm, Greg Chisholm and Scott Chisholm. Thanks to everyone for coming along and taking part.

Thanks to the 20 club members who attended our opening night. Glorious weather to start, hopefully that continues through the season. Ritchie Irvine delivered the first jack of the season and Doreen Campbell raised the flag to mark the green open for the season,
