The sunshine returned for our Junior Singles Final. James was victorious 8-6 in the 10 end match over Tyler. In a tight encounter throughout and a high quality match the score of 4 James secured on end 5 proved pivotal.

Jude secured her 4th title of the week in an enthralling final this morning for the Jubilee Cup versus James Whelan. James secured set 1 with 2x3 in the final ends to win 9-7. Jude secured set 2 with an end to spare 7-2. The one end tie break ensued with Jude drawing a bowl 4 inches short of the jack to secure victory.

The 3rd in our finals week was yet another enthralling encounter between Davy MacLennan & James Whelan in the Mackenzie Cup. Davy started with a 2 shot advantage and started brightly, racing into an 8-2 lead. James however rallied to score 12 consecutive shots to lead 14-8. Davy battled back to level the game 17 each after a measure to a ditched Jack. In the next end though James played a wonderful forehand runner to remove Davy’s shot bowl and score 3. In the final end James drew a front toucher and added 3 back bowls to be victorious 21-17.

We have a day off tomorrow before our only double header of the week, starting at 3.45 on Friday. In the Ladies final Sharon Mackay takes on defending champion Judith Iley. In the Gents final it is Graeme Irvine versus James Whelan.

Well tonight’s final lived up to the pre match hype. Some fantastic bowling by all 4 players. Nip and tuck throughout until Judith Iley and Diana Pittard just sneaked in front to lead 17-11 after 16 ends. Commiserations to James Whelan & Alec Murray-Coyle.

Tomorrow’s final is at 3.30pm for the Mackenzie Cup where Davy MacLennan starts with a 2 shot head start over James Whelan.All welcome to spectate.
