A great school residential should challenge pupils without creating unnecessary pressure for staff.

That is why planning, communication, safety and risk management sit at the heart of our school programmes. Before pupils arrive, we work with schools to understand the group, the intended outcomes, the practical requirements and the level of support staff need.

Whether it is a one-day outdoor learning experience, a first residential, a five-day adventure week or a bespoke programme, the aim is the same: pupils return with memories, confidence and skills they can carry back into school life.

We have Gold residential options for October 2026 and February 2027, including autumn residential weeks and winter snow sports residential opportunities in the Highlands of Scotland. These are ideal for Gold participants who want an adventurous, structured week, clear pre-course information and support from experienced outdoor staff. Last week the Instructor Training Course students were on another expedition and this time to the North West Highlands and Loch Mallardoch in Glen Cannich.

The expedition included a canoeing along the Loch followed by the ascent of the surrounding Munros, giving the students a perfect training ground for their journey into a career in the industry.

Teachers are already beginning to look ahead to 2027 residentials, transition trips, activity days and outdoor learning programmes.

A well-planned residential should be exciting for pupils, manageable for staff and clearly linked to the outcomes your school wants to support. That might include confidence, resilience, communication, problem solving, leadership, wellbeing or wider achievement.

Our programmes can be tailored as 2–7 day residentials, single activity days or seasonal adventure packages, with activities chosen around age, ability, dates, travel time and school priorities.
