Great to be back!

Almost a full team on a wet windy morning hosted by Hindley Stags.

Some tough games against good opposition in Hindley and Thatto. The lads dug deep and picked up where we left off!

Some good tries, excellent tagging.

The lads are really starting to take what they are learning in training and putting it into the matches.

Back with a bang 💥!!

The under-12s got the second half of the season started again on Thursday evening, welcoming Liverpool Lions.

After 6 weeks off, you can never be certain how teams will react in their first game back after such a long break.

But any worries of a slip in form were quickly forgotten. Storm took control in the early stages and never looked back.

The game was a bruising encounter with both teams fronting up well in defence and some big collisions, however, some great passing and quick plays from Storm saw them repeatedly break the Lions line and on many occasions led to points.

There was a real resilience in the lads and it was pleasing to see them hold the lions out a couple of times on thier own line and keeping them scoreless.

All in all it was a fantastic way to restart the season and set a marker going forward.

Had a great game all round and repeatedly found space in the middle and bagged a Hat trick.

COACHES PLAYER

Some strong runs with ball in hand and defended well. Also did a great job for us in the centres for his first go in that position.

A fantastic solo try saving tackle out on the wing.
Punching well above his weight and shutting down the play.

** Also special mention to two of our Props Fraser and Jacob who both ran full steam into a big pack and after the initial contact didn’t take a backwards step.

Cubs is on tomorrow.

11.15 am. 45 mins for the littlens get a run about!

If your child has just gone into Y2 we're looking to get the team sorted. We have about 8 at the moment but would love a few more to join us!

Come to training and ask the coach all about it.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED- we also need a coach (or two) to take on the new U7s team and get these kids playing rugby. Tag only and FULL support given by the club and other coaches.

Is your child going into Y2 this week?

Are they looking for a new hobby? Team sport that is fun?

Our Newton Storm A.R.L.F.C Cubs is run every Saturday 11.15am-12 and we're now ready to make the new U7's team!

So as well as 1 or 2 more players we would also welcome (well we need) a coach or two!

The new coaches would get full support from the Club as well as other existing Storm Coaches.

If you're interested please drop us a message or chat to the coach at Cubs on Saturday.

A reminder for anyone coming down to Newton Sports Club to watch the rugby this weekend.

We can't wait to see you there and we hope you'll enjoy what we have on offer.

🐕Bring the pup! Don't have to get dog guilt OR head home early to let them out. Please just keep them on a lead at all times.

🍻 The bar is open, and The Lane is serving food! Grab a snack, a pint, a bottle of w**e and settle in for an afternoon of rugby.

🚗 Parking is available but limited so if you are local it's be great if you could walk down or car share.

🎾 Did you know the Club also has tennis courts, Vip Padel and cricket nets? So there's plenty more to do before/after the game too!
