Galloway Harriers The public page for Galloway Harriers running club. Everyone is welcome at any training night or session - regardless of pace or fitness.

Galloway Harriers Running Club is open to people from all walks of life - regardless of age, gender, race, disability, etc - and caters for those wishing to run for fitness to those running at international level. We meet for club runs outside The Merrick Lesiure Centre, Corsbie Road, Newton Stewart on Tuesdays at 6.30pm.

There will be no run session this tuesday but we will meet at Newton Stewart Golf club to deliver the pre-race notifications around the route. Many hands make light work so I look forward to seeing you there at 6.30pm.

Soggy but fun. We ran for 20 minutes of solid effort, took a 3 minute recovery and returned strongly in 17 minutes…well, turned out 18 minutes was more realistic. You live and learn.

TUESDAY NIGHT. ALL WELCOME TO JOIN US AT THE MERRICK CENTRE.
1830.
Tonight we will jog down to the Riverside Carpark, do a bit of stretching and then we will run out following the Cree towards Nether Barr for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes we will take a 2 minute recovery before turning back and running for 17 minutes. Obviously the challenge is to run stronger on the way home to reach the origin point in less time than the outbound journey took.

After a warm up jog we will run 6 ascents (powerfully) to Kirroughtree House with gentle jog backs.
