NACC vs Darlington Women 🏏

NACC scored 184/1 off 20 overs, away to Darlington. Tina scored 31, which included 2 six’s and 3 fours. Carys scored 26, which included 2 fours and 2 six’s! On top of this, Anneliese made 25, as she scored 3 fours and 1 six! Neve and Lucinda both scored double digits in the batting innings.

With the ball, Aycliffe dominated. They got 3 run outs plus 2 wickets each for Carys, Isabelle, Tina and Anneliese! Addison and Lucinda also picked up a wicket each as Aycliffe would win by 164 runs 😊

With this result, NACC are now top of the league of the Hambleton Softball league!

Junior weekly round up 🏏

The U11s played 3 games this week, starting off with last week’s game at home to Barnard Castle. Harvey (19*) and Thomas (10*) both made double figures with the bat. Thomas also got 2 wickets with the ball, with Jacob and Luke also getting a wicket each.

They would then go on to play Norton at home in the cup on Tuesday. Harvey top scored with 30*, which included 6 fours. An excellent 3 over spell from Alfie as he took 3 wickets but only going for 3 runs! Jacob also got a wicket as they would narrowly lose to Norton.

This morning, they travelled to Richmond. Harvey (20) scored 5 boundaries from his 11 balls. 2 wickets each for Meredith, Thomas and Harvey as they again narrowly lost by 18 runs.

The under 15s played excellently this morning, at home to Marske. Carys took 4 wickets from her 4 over spell. Excellent catches from wicket keeper Trent x2 and Neve. 2 wickets for Jack plus a wicket each for Miles and Dylan meant Aycliffe restricted Markse to 89. Captain Trent scored an outstanding 47* at the top of the order, which included 8 fours and 1 six! This meant NACC won their 3rd game of the season.

The U17s travelled to Northallerton on Monday for their first game of the season. 2 wickets each from Jack and Danny. On top of that, a wicket each from Lucas, Trent and Miles. Danny was not out at the end making 34*. Contributions from Jonah and Ethan (16 runs each) as NACC lost by 42 runs!

The U17s also played Friday, away to a talented Sedgefield team. An excellent last over from Liam as he took 2 wickets, with Jack also getting 2 as Sedgefield piled on the runs. Trent was not out at the end with the bat, scoring 32* which included 3 fours and 1 six. Ethan made 21 at the top of the order with Finn also contributing by making 18* off 16 balls.

3 wins in a row for the first team 🏏

The 1st team hosted unbeaten league leaders Blackhall yesterday. Palmer put the visitors into bat, with Leo getting the early breakthrough. 2 excellent 10 over spells from Ramzan and Pat, with Ram being the pick of the bowlers taking 4 wickets. Pat grabbed himself a wicket, with Ben and Jai also in the wickets. On top of this, an excellent direct run out from Will meant Blackhall were bowled out for 168.

In the second innings, Tom raced to his half century before drinks as he continues his form at the top of the order. With the game being tight throughout, it was an excellent time for captain Palmer to make his first half century in the league this season. Adam Gittins batted excellently for his 37 to make sure himself and Leon saw the team over the line. Another 20 points for the first team, allowing them to move into the promotion places in the league for the first time this season!

The 2nd team travelled to Thornaby. Another decent knock from French at the top order despite regular wickets falling. Shash and Jimmy made double figures however NACC were bowled out. Trav got the important wicket of the Thornaby opener, with Jimmy also picking up two wickets. An excellent catch in the deep from Miles however Thornaby would win the game by 7 wickets.

Weekend team news 👀

The 1st team host league leaders Blackhall. There are 2 changes to the team that beat Sedgefield with Ramzan and Leon coming back into the team.

The 2s travel to Thornaby, and are looking to build on last week’s narrow defeat.

The women’s team make a short journey to Darlington, in the Hambleton Softball league.

NACC vs BCCC women’s match report 🏏

The women’s team hosted Barnard Castle in the NYSD hardball 100. Barnard Castle piled on the runs, which included an excellent century from their opener. Addison and Louise took the only wickets off the bowling innings.

With the bat, Addison scored a fluent 38 runs. Madison also scored double figures with the bat, as she was 16* not out. A first defeat in the hardball league for the women 🏏
