On Saturday 13th June we had 6 athletes competed in various distance and disciplines at Ellerton Lake. In awful conditions, the strong winds played havoc, forcing the organisers to reduce the swim to approximately 500 metres for all races.
Michelle Scott, was a superb 2nd in her category in the sprint event, starting with the fasters swim of anyone in the sprint event with 9:07. A time only bettered by 2 people across the whole day, despite starting in a bad position and having to swim through the whole field. Michelle finished with an overall time of 1:21:31. Times where, Swim 9:07, Bike 45:05 and Run 25:06.
Adam Simpson also did the Sprint distance finishing a impressive 9th in his category, with an overall time of 1:35:49, with splits of Swim 11:45, Bike 48:35 and Run 30:57.
Standard Distance
In the standard distance race, first home for ATC and continuing his great form, and 1st in his category and 6th overall, was Andrew Sedgwick, with a fantastic overall time of 2:06:53, wth splits of Swim 10:10, Bike 68:31 and Run 45:44. Outstanding !!!
Also in the Standard distance race, Mark Parnaby continued his good and ever improving form with a 12th place in his category with a overall time of 2:40:12, with splits of Swim 12:56, Bike 1:23:02 and Run 58:28.
Vicki Parnaby also competed in the Standard distance race, finishing 6th in her category in an overall time of 3:05:30, with splits of Swim 17:17, Bike 1:32:44 and Run 1:10:28. A good performance especially with her limited swim experience in those difficult conditions.
And finally competing in the Aquabike event, with another podium for ATC, and his second podium spot in rescent weeks was Jim Wilson, with a second place in his category, with an overall time of 1:08:45, with splits of Swim 11:05 and Bike 54:43.
Really well done to each of you, doing yourself and our club proud

Its National Volunteers Week.

I just want to say a huge thank you to every single one of our volunteers. What you give to this club isn’t just time, it’s heart, energy, and belief in what people can achieve when they are supported.

Whether you’re coaching on poolside, leading a run or ride, organising sessions, welcoming new members, or quietly keeping things moving behind the scenes, you are the reason this club feels the way it does.

You help people go from “I’m not sure I can do this” to “I’ve just smashed something I never thought possible”. That transformation doesn’t happen by accident, it happens because of you.

Volunteers’ Week is a reminder of how powerful community sport can be when people step up for each other. I see the impact you make every single week, and I am incredibly proud to volunteer alongside you.
