Little fishes swimming school provide fun interactive swimming lessons for children aged 3+ both in group and private lessons. Classes are kept small (max 6) with all of our instructors teaching in the water alongside the children. We hand pick our pools to ensure they are a safe and welcoming environment for your children to learn in. Lessons run on Mondays and Saturdays at Seal Hayne in newton A

Beginner Group Class Spaces Available!

We have some brand new beginner group classes starting in January at the Hydro Hub on:

Mondays at 5pm
Wednesdays at 4.30pm
Saturdays at 10am

Swimmers need to be age 4years plus and not yet swimming unaided on their own, these classes are the first starting point for lessons at Little Fishes so are brilliant for building confident, happy and safe swimmers for the future!

Lessons are 30minutes long and we have no more than 6 swimmers in a class working alongside one of our fantastic teachers with the added bonus of a swim teacher assistant to lend an extra pair of eyes and hands in the water (sat & mon classes)

If you are keen to join us then please get in touch to arrange a trial swim. We don't expect these spaces to hang around for too long!

✨ International Women’s Day ✨

Today, as we celebrate International Women’s Day, I want to take a moment to recognise an incredible woman—my amazing wife, Sarah Baxter. 💜

Sarah is not just an amazing wife, mum, and businesswoman who founded three successful companies: Littlefishes Swimschool, Hydro-hub, and FISH . Her passion, resilience, and dedication have shaped so many lives, whether it’s teaching children to swim, supporting staff in their personal development, or encouraging our children in their sports and hobbies. And this week, she proved once again just how extraordinary she is.

On Monday, Sarah began one of her most grueling challenges yet—climbing Mount Kilimanjaro alongside five other inspirational women. And this morning, at sunrise, she reached the summit after climbing for seven hours through the night! 🏔️🌅

It hasn’t been an easy journey. Altitude sickness hit the team hard, and on Wednesday, two members had to make the heartbreaking decision to stop their ascent due to severe effects of altitude sickness and advice from the medical team supporting them. With lower oxygen levels and extreme conditions, Sarah described it as the hardest thing she has ever done, battling the effects of high altitude every step of the way. Yet, with sheer determination, she pushed through.

Early this morning, we received a message from the team—they had reached the summit! 🌟 I can’t wait to see the photos and hear more about their journey, but for now, I just want to say how unbelievably proud I am.

Sarah, you are an inspiration—not just to me but to our children, our friends, and so many others. Your strength, courage, and drive show what’s possible when you set your mind to something. Hopefully, your journey will inspire others to take on their own mountains—whatever they may be.

🌍🌟 An Inspirational Journey: Sarah Baxter Climbs Kilimanjaro for Girls’ Education! 🌟🌍

Sarah left Devon on Thursday to fly to Kilimanjaro, and today marks the first day of her incredible and challenging journey! Sarah Baxter, is the founder of Littlefishes Swimschool , is taking on the challenge of a lifetime—climbing Mount Kilimanjaro! 💪⛰️

Alongside a team of five remarkable women from Mid-Devon, Sarah will trek through Africa’s highest peak from March 3rd to 9th, reaching the summit at sunrise on International Women’s Day (March 8th)! This expedition isn’t just about personal achievement—it’s about empowering women and girls worldwide.

The team is raising funds for the Malala Fund, helping to ensure 12 years of free, safe, and quality education for girls globally.

Do you have a little swimmer who needs to get going with some swimming lessons?

After Christmas we will have beginner group class spaces becoming available in 2 brand new groups on a Monday at 4pm and a Wednesday at 5pm at the Hydro Hub.

Our toasty, warm pool is the perfect place for beginners to start their swimming journey. Group classes are kept to a maximum of 6 swimmers and instructors teach in the water offering support and encouragement throughout.

These classes are for school age children who are not yet swimming unaided.

💦Have you ever considered becoming a Swimming Teacher? 💦

We are looking for 2 wannabe instructors that we can recruit and train over the summer holidays so that they are ready to take on their own swimmers in September.

The nature of this job suits many people including college or uni students, retired workers or those just wishing to top up their income.

Teaching hours in September would be between 4-6pm, 1 or 2 weekdays per week during term time only and the summer training programme can be fairly flexible to fit in around you although this will require attending a course at Newton Abbott leisure centre between 14-16th & 19th-21st August.

You must be age 16years or over to apply and have a genuine interest in helping little people achieve a skill for life.
