In case anyone hasn’t seen it yet I present the troll 2.0

Based around an idea, what if the Americans and NATO had stuck with the 7.62 round instead of swapping to the 5.56

The airsoft replica is based around the Cyma HK417 with added furniture from the M16VN(ish) to give me the M17VN.

Slightly shorter than its sister the M16/203.

Two shoutouts for brilliant craftsmanship, quality and generally good customer service

First is to Finch Embroidery for the custom made patches for a kit that I’m currently working on, from initial contact, help with design all the way through to delivery every step went effortlessly.. The quality of the patch looks amazing.

Next goes out to Kydex Custom for the Moscart launcher holster. Their website was quick and easy to order off and the product was delivered quickly and well packaged. Mounted nice and easily and although I haven’t used it in a game yet it appears a nice secure fit.

A couple of us went down to Black Ops Airsoft at Portishead today.

Some nice verticality on the site letting you get nice and high as well as plenty of over growth to move through and sneak around.

Any day on the trigger is a good day

Now to find a holster for my moscart launcher…

I need your help!

Ive acquired an Umarex MP5 and I want to bring it back to life.

As far as I can tell at the moment the only thing missing is the magazine catch, but since I have no idea who made this for Umarex I have no idea which one to order.

What I can tell you is it appears to be a V2 gearbox (separate motor and gearbox) and is probably 5 years old.

Yes I know the trigger is weirdly small and I’ll sort that once I get it working.

This wasn’t going to be a post, but here we are.

What should have been a quick job took way longer than planned.

New quick detach suppressor arrived today from China, it even comes with a new flash hider. Everything going well so far remove grub screw, take off old flashed. Fit new flash hider and fit the suppressor.

Nice easy 5 minute job I hear everyone say.

This is where it goes wrong.

Test fired it to make sure its all lined up properly, grab the first bag of bbs from the cupboard.

First few shots perfect so I go to finish the mag then all hell breaks loose.

Shots going all over the place, left, right, curving around, bbs shattering flying up, dropping down.

So remove the suppressor to see if thats the fault, nope same fault, swap back to the old flash hider and still the same.

Now it’s time to strip down the RIF to check everything out, easy enough but this is a GE so it doesn’t strip down like other AR style RIFs. Finally get the hop unit and barrel out and discover the hop rubbers been torn and the barrel is full of residue.

Now I don’t want to blame the bb’s I used for the test however I had cleaned the barrel before the last game and it ran half a mag before it shat itself.

New barrel from the collection and a G&G green hop rubber and it’s behaving beautifully again.

Lesson learnt the bb’s I used to test will go into the bb grenades and maybe the moscarts but wont be going through a RIF again.

First test of a new toy at SpartanAirsoft near Bristol.

Think I may have to invest in a few more shells.

We’ve been a little quiet lately but real life has got in the way.

Our last game out was on the 13th February at UCAP Vendetta in the old Gloucester prison.

It was a fast paced, up close and personal game day with both close quarter indoor fire fights and out door medium range engagements.

We will be heading back at some point.

Next game is this weekend 20th March at Spartan Airsoft in Bristol.

Greetings all!

So it’s been a while but some down time has allowed two projects to happen.

First is a MK23 suppressor made from a coca-cola can for a friend to match a coca-cola suppressor I made for his apoco themed AK toy.

Second was modifying my personal M16, this time round that meant adding a M203 and the relevant heat shield for that full Ross Kemp - Ultimate force inspired look, (guess I’d best dig out my Falkland kit and shave my head)

Yesterday the team ventured down to Devon for a game at UCZ Paintball held by one of our favourite suppliers, Black Rifle Airsoft.

It was a day of fast paced, quick turn around games on a well established paintball site.

I ran one of the lightest (if not lightest) kit that I’ve used since my rental days.

MC Tropic jacket, Tiger stripe trousers, HPA tank in a hydration pack on my back, one ultra high cap in my replica and one in my pocket.

When your UKARA licence expires and you have to convert all your RIFs back to two-tone.

Oh well that’s the first done, hopefully it keeps the The UKARA Police happy.

This little bundle of yellow cost less than a bag of bb’s, is spring loaded so can be used by under 18’s and due to site rules today got a couple of multi kills.

So the question is, what cheap bit of kit have you brought thats really surprised you?
