This great initiative is designed for just that, open to budding drivers and navigators of all ages training and mentoring to get you out and involved. It’s that time!!! Entries for primrose 2026 are now open
We’ve done our bit so now it’s down to you guys to get those entries in so we can keep pushing on in confidence that we can run the event with the numbers worthy of the workload!

Rally Academy 2026 - Open Day - 28th December 2025

The South Hams Motor Club Ltd is proud to announce, with the very generous input and assistance of a Club member, a Rally Academy for 2026.

This gentleman has had many great years enjoying our great sport and wishes many others to experience the same enjoyment he has had. So we have put together this Rally Academy with the aim of helping you or your child, as long as their age allows.

There will be a series of teachings, covering:

Hands on putting your routes on a map
The art of time keeping
Learning the rules
Help with organising club rallies and other events
and for those of you with cars, even car preparation so you can go rallying locally on our 12 Car Navigation Rallies.

Can you help?? Do you have the skills we are after ? We need someone to create shareable media to help promote our events calendar and information in the run up to the big days….. Organisers can provide images and information required to create posts and assistance with the direction of the target audience needed for each event. Obviously this is a flexible roll to work around your free time/ availability.

It’s with great regret we have decided to cancel the Guy Fawkes rally for 2025. We greatly underestimated the amount of our regulars that are attending the RAC along with a number of other factors impacting the entries currently. With only 12 entries and 4 of which paid there isn’t enough to expect our team to give more time and costs plus marshals simply wont come out all night for a sub standard event. Anyone entered thank you for your support we sincerely hope you understand our reasons for having to make this tough decision. You will of been contacted prior to this announcement so please check your emails.

So what next??
The Primrose will return on February 7/8th 2026 but with a new look. To try and help with peoples budgets we are trying something different and keeping costs down for this one, 100miles, No breakfast and a sensible finish time for those travelling. Start/Finish will be a stones throw from 24hr facilities. Early entry incentives for crews will be on offer keeping the fee down to £50 which will hopefully help us plan with confidence and run with a number worthy of the hard work the team put in.
The Harvest will run on 3/4 October 26 and the Guy Fawkes down for 21/22 November 26
So please save the dates!

We remain committed to Road Rallying in the South West in these extremely trying times, hopefully 2026 will see a better year for events in our part of the world.

Where are the entries at ?? 🤔
Now we understand we are clashing with the RAC but everyone cant be there ! We as a club really want the event to run but off the back of a tough few months behind the scenes and many hoops to jump through we need to see some commitment more than ever from you guys. These events take a huge amount of time to organise and with 9 on the books (3 paid) we are wondering where this is going? Do people still want events down here ? Is it the date ? The insurance costs atm ? Or just generally lost interest in RR ? Answers on a postcard !

Entries are open and we really need your support to keep these events alive in the south west, we’ve listened to feedback and kept the mileage and the fee down with great access to those travelling from afar so what are you waiting for??
