What a man, the legend that is Mickey Mallon! Competing two days in a row (sprint and standard) at the European Triathlon Championships in Tarragona, Mickey finished 2nd in his age category. At 78 years young, he's still flying. Bravo Mickey!!

We also have Diarmaid Mac Auley taking on Ironman Austria today, with a time of 13:21:09!! Well done Diarmaid what an achievement!!

Meanwhile at home many of our members where talking part in Beyond the wall triathlon at Castleward, well done all!

Feile Camlocha are thankful to the Carr family for this special award which will now become part of an annual dedication in remembrance of the legacy that Brendan holds. He was always there for maintenance jobs and preparation of the Crooked Lake Event, supported and encouraged many on their swim, bike and run journeys and crossed many a Crooked Lake Triathlon finish line as a member of Newry Triathlon Club.

Yesterday, more than 40+ of our members took part in the Crooked Lake Triathlon Camlough, a fantastic event and a great day of racing for everyone! A special congratulations to Mattie Kinkaid, who took first place with an outstanding time of 57:16. It was also brilliant to see so many of our New to Tri members on the start line.

Meanwhile, down in Wicklow, Eoin, Alan, Karen, Barry, Yvonne and Davy are tackling the Wicklow 200. Given the weather conditions this weekend, it might just qualify as a swim as well as a cycle!

Further afield, Patrick McDaid is competing today at the European Off-Road Running Championships in Slovenia. Best of luck, Patrick, and we look forward to hearing how you get on.

Our third and final aquathlon of the series is done, and what a night it was! We couldn't bring the sunshine, but we certainly brought the speed, and that's what counts.

A huge thank you to everyone who raced over the past three weeks and to our brilliant marshals and volunteers.

The sunshine may not have lasted, but that didn't stop Newry Triathlon Club members from turning out in force at TriAthy and the James McManus Sprint this weekend.

Back home several club members took the Battle of Carlingford Lough swim and our New to Tri group completed their programme today. A huge well done to everyone involved. Shane and Ritchie led the group through a swim, bike and run session around the Crooked Lake route. Well done all!!
