The club run regular skills workshops and bring in guest coaches to keep the programme varied and continually give our members the opportunity to increase their skills. We also offer discounted training opportunities to our members and apply for grant assisted funding to enhance opportunities for women in sport. The club membership fee is £20. In addition to this, members must be affiliated to either/or both governing bodies which provides membership benefits such as personal and public liability insurance while taking part in mountaineering and/or mountain biking activities. Super Leadership Day funded by Mountaineering Ireland for club development grants. This was for our FGF club coaches involved in leading our club hillwalks.

Claire Hardy our trainer, was her usual brilliant self and helped us to explore aspects of leading that are very relevant to our group. Good luck to those who are going for assessment too. Nice one Hilda Hope for securing the funding.

Great day at Hushfest in Wicklow today! Well done Louise on another Podium!

As part of our drive to increase the skills and confidence in the women in the club we have funding from Sported NI to mentor club members. The game plan is these women will become more self reliant in the sports we do, and hopefully in turn share their skills and knowledge too.

Last night the climbers were looking at technical skills on Wee Roosley with the fab Mountain Instructor Claire Hardy.

We are always keen to support women on their leadership pathways and know preparation is underway for several ladies doing their Mountain Leader assessment this summer.

Over the next few months the Mountain bikers and hillwalkers will also be getting opportunities to upskill too! Brilliant opportunities! Thanks sported and the funding team, Rachel Annan Brenda Nugent🥰
