Welcome Ciarán!

Rathfriland Football Club is delighted to announce Ciarán Dobbin as our third summer signing ahead of the 26/27 season.

Ciarán arrives to Iveagh Park adding further quality to Ally Wilson’s squad and the midfielder brings valuable Championship experience from his previous clubs including Ballyclare Comrades, Dundela, Portadown FC and most recently Ards FC.

Ciarán told us “My first impressions are that Rathfriland FC is a fantastic club with serious potential. After chatting with Ally about the vision for the squad and the club as a whole, it was something I really wanted to be a part of. There’s a real ambition here, and that’s very exciting.

I’m looking forward to meeting all the lads, getting a good pre-season under the belt, and building those relationships on and off the pitch. Hopefully we can make a strong start to the league and have a successful season”.

Thank you Yogi!

Rathfriland Football Club can confirm Josh Cahoon’s departure from the club, having recently signed for Lisburn Distillery FC.

Yogi joined in the summer of 25/26 and played a big role last season in our successful promotion campaign to the NIFL Championship, the Bob Radcliffe Cup win, and who could forget his dramatic late winner to overcome Armagh City in the Mid Ulster Cup semi-final, sparking great celebrations and firing us to our first ever senior cup final!

We would like to extend our thanks to Yogi for all his efforts and contribution to Rathfriland Football Club, and wish him well for the future!

Welcome Lee!

Rathfriland Football Club is delighted to announce Lee McCune as the second addition to Ally Wilson’s squad ahead of the 26/27 season!

Lee joins from Ballyclare Comrades, bringing several years of NIFL Championship experience to the Whites. A left sided defender, Lee will bolster the defensive options in the squad and we look forward to him joining the group for the pre- season preparations.

Lee told us “Very happy to have signed and really looking forward to getting in, meeting the lads, and getting prepared for the season ahead!

Having played against Rathfriland FC last season I know the standard of players that are here, and I’m excited to compete in the Championship alongside them. Buzzing to get started!”

Thank you Eoin!

Rathfriland Football Club would like to confirm the departure of Eoin Rooney after recently completing a return move to Drumaness Mills FC.

Having signed from Drumaness Mills FC in the summer of 2024, Eoin would go on to score 28 goals over his two seasons at Iveagh Park. He made a significant contribution to the club’s success in that time including some vital goals in last season’s promotion run- in vs Newry City and Coagh United. A memorable hat trick away to Dergview FC in the 24/25 season was another highlight.

Always appreciated by the home support, we want to extend our thanks to Eoin on behalf of all at Rathfriland FC for his service to the club and wish him every success for the future.

NIFL Championship Season Tickets available!

After securing a historic promotion to the NIFL Championship in May, work is well underway strengthening the playing squad and preparations off the pitch, as we build towards our Championship debut when the league season sparks into action on the 8th August opening weekend!

With at least 18 home league games (5 more than 25/26), this promises to be our biggest league season ever and season tickets are now available allowing you to get ahead of the game and look forward to roaring on the Whites in a historic season at a discounted rate!

Ally Wilson and his squad always appreciate the loyal support from the stands and need that more than ever this season! So let’s meet this new exciting challenge together as anticipation grows ahead of the official release of league fixtures on w/c 22nd June and the big kick off in August!

Welcome Reece!

Rathfriland Football Club are delighted to announce Reece Doyle as the first of Ally Wilson’s summer signings ahead of the 26/27 season!

Rathfriland FC supporters will have seen talented forward player Reece up close in previous seasons during his time at Banbridge Town and Warrenpoint Town where Reece also gained NIFL Championship experience. He joins after a short spell at Drumaness Mills FC last season bringing energy, hunger and further attacking threat with his pacy, direct style!

Reece said “I’m delighted to have signed and buzzing to get started with the lads. It’s a club that’s always been close to me as I used to come here from no age and watch my dad play here, so it’s a proud moment to be involved myself.

I’m looking forward to the challenge this season and hopefully making plenty of good memories”.

Looking forward to seeing you on the pitch Reece. Welcome to Iveagh Park! ⚫️⚪️
