DAY 3 OF OUR INTENSIVE SURF INSTRUCTOR COURSE! 🏄‍♂️🤙

This morning, the crew headed down to the bay at Great Western to make the most of some fun 2-3ft waves. Today’s main focus was getting everyone through their very first ABC Surf Lessons, and it was incredible to see so much rapid progress in the group’s teaching skills already!

WE ARE LIVE! Our SEPT 2026 Intensive Surf Instructor Course is officially a go! 🔥

We welcomed a brand new crew of future instructors to the centre yesterday, and we wasted no time getting started.

First up? A solid free surf over at Great Western, heading straight into top-tier video analysis led by our guest pro, Luke Dillon

For the rest of the week, the team will be diving deep into their ABC surf lessons, sharpening their personal skills, and shadowing our live sessions.

Yes, you read that right! We’re running 100% FREE Surf Lessons on Sunday 13th & Sunday 20th September at 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM.

Whether you’re catching your very first wave or looking to brush up on your skills, these sessions are open to all abilities aged 8 and up! 🏄‍♂️🏄‍♀️

Did you know Newquay is home to a hidden freshwater cave? 👁️✨

If you look closely at the walls, you’ll spot a texture that looks just like dragon scales. 🐉

The technical term for these mineral deposits is Speleothem (derived from the Greek words for ‘cave’ and ‘deposit’). As rainwater trickles down through the cliff face, it absorbs carbon dioxide and minerals like calcium carbonate, creating these stunning, textured formations over time 🐉💦

Team Newquay Activity Centre take the double win 🥇🥇

Stoked that team riders & Parker Barber placed first in each of their divisions of the Newquay Boardriders Pro Cadet Series Round 2.

Hard work pays off and we're buzzing to see that two surfers who learned with us are loving their surfing so much and training hard.

Thanks to the crew at NBR for putting on the event, especially Eddie Wilson and to Northshore for sponsoring the series.

It's also been great to work with different coaches to help the groms improve. Thanks to Simon Hickie RSJ Surf Academy & Llewellyn Whittaker

With a packed autumn of events on the schedule we wish our grom-team all the best for the upcoming series of comps 🔥
