Heron offer players of all ages and levels a year-round tennis programme with a wide range of on and off court activities. You don't have to be a member to play at Heron, but there are a wide range of benefits available through individual and various family membership options. There is our Courtside Cafe, which is open to the public throughout the week, as well as the Heron Room, which can be hire

d for yoga and exercise classes, work training, meetings and celebrations. Heron is the home of Cornwall Disability Tennis Network, which offers tennis sessions for all levels and disabilities, including wheelchair tennis. Heron's coaching is provided by Ace Tennis Coaching & Academy, which is one of the leading club-based programmes in the south-west. We offer comprehensive junior and adult coaching programmes, including individual and small group lessons, after-school and weekend coaching courses, daytime and evening pay-on-the-day groups, and school holiday sessions. We provide a range of coaching services to local and touring schools, hotels and campsites, and other tennis clubs in Cornwall, the UK and Europe. Our Ace Academy is for juniors and adults with the most ability, commitment and aspirations. It features junior, senior and veteran players at club, county, university and national levels, plus a few players on the ITF, ATP and WTA Tours. Rolling back the years.......
Warren, Craig, Dave and Rob, 4 of Heron's first ever men's team players back in 2004, play a gentleman's doubles on the clay after a break from playing padel!!

Well done to David Bradbeer who competed in the Dan Maskell Trust recreational doubles event in Bristol.

Breaking news......
Pro player and Heron ambassador Finn Bass continues to shoot up the ATP men's pro rankings after more big tournament wins. This time he and his partner win their first ATP Challenger title as his ranking surges to 200 in the world. Congrats Finn!

And more breaking news.....
Ali A made his England debut at the Four Nations Champs. He won all his matches vs Scotland, Ireland and Wales to help his senior team win the title. Ali said: "A massive thank you to coach Artem who has helped me climb the senior rankings and catch the eye of the National selectors. It was a great experience and honour to represent my country." Well done Ali, Heron is proud of you!

Coach Anthony takes some of the Heron ladies for a tennis camp in Majorca and visit the Nadal Academy.

Special report: Annie Watson's progress
Since leaving Heron to start her degree at Loughborough University, Annie has been a busy girl......
- Annie was voted 'Volunteer Coach of the Year' for her work with some of the uni teams and with visually impaired players
- she was unbeaten in singles and doubles and her team became BUCS Team of the Year, winning both the League and Cup
- became Chairperson for Loughborough Uni tennis
- will be a court supervisor at the pre Wimbledon pro tournament at Queen's Club
- will be coaching at the Nike International Tennis camp at Radley school in the summer break
- was tournament director of an international visually impaired event
- presented her learnings and experiences to the directors of Loughborough University about her female coaches mentor group and becoming the youngest female LTA Level 3 coach in the country
and in her spare time is studying for a degree in Sports Management!! Well done Annie, fabulous achievements, experiences and career progressions. And it all started at Heron in little Cornwall!

Heatwave shoutout to Robin here ( Ilfracombe Tennis Club ) and our own Edward Tavistock Tennis Club for a victory in the U12 Boys Doubles at the 26th Heron Open today. They battled bravely through the intense temperatures winning an excellent final 4-2 4-3 (7/5).

It was a great match with Samuel and Jack making up the 4 showing excellent sporting behaviour, check-ins re water intake and ensuring all were okay at the end of each game. Great work lads!

How could I forget this one!

Mixed Padel Comp

Some excellent competitive matches at our third padel comp in the last few weeks. This time it was the mixed. The final saw James and Amelia beat Matt and Paige. With a full draw and 8 on the waiting list I think we will have to have an all weekender next time!
