Heron offer players of all ages and levels a year-round tennis programme with a wide range of on and off court activities. You don't have to be a member to play at Heron, but there are a wide range of benefits available through individual and various family membership options. There is our Courtside Cafe, which is open to the public throughout the week, as well as the Heron Room, which can be hired for yoga and exercise classes, work training, meetings and celebrations. Heron is the home of Cornwall Disability Tennis Network, which offers tennis sessions for all levels and disabilities, including wheelchair tennis. Heron's coaching is provided by Ace Tennis Coaching & Academy, which is one of the leading club-based programmes in the south-west. We offer comprehensive junior and adult coaching programmes, including individual and small group lessons, after-school and weekend coaching courses, daytime and evening pay-on-the-day groups, and school holiday sessions. We provide a range of coaching services to local and touring schools, hotels and campsites, and other tennis clubs in Cornwall, the UK and Europe. Our Ace Academy is for juniors and adults with the most ability, commitment and aspirations. It features junior, senior and veteran players at club, county, university and national levels, plus a few players on the ITF, ATP and WTA Tours. Coaching isn't just about hitting the fuzzy yellow things, it's about helping people with their tennis, and especially helping young people along their life journeys. Coach Jon A was thrilled to see former pupil Emily and so pleased she now captains her Uni team!

Congrats to former coach Mike and Hayley for getting married. Coaches JB, Jon and Steve A and Adri, Fran and Fran shared the day with them. Mike is still a big part of the history of Heron and was a pleasure to have as part of the team.

With such a close knit coaching team, the group got together for a little food and football golf. Picture of a few in a spot of bother! A surprise winner was crowned on the day.

Padel Comps Round Up

Sunday 16th August saw 16 players battle out the men's comp. Congrats to Winners James/Xan and finalists Tom/Zach.
The Ladies comp was superbly attended with Amelia/Paige coming out on top vs Farrah/Alison.
Then to wrap up the string of comps was the Men's over 40's won by Paul/Justin with Anthony/Ali finishing second. Thanks all for entering.

GET SIGNED UP: New term of Adult, Junior, Academy and Disability tennis, padel and pickle groups resume week of 7 September.
Please sign up asap to secure your place or speak to your child’s/ your coach if unsure of the most suitable group.

We are delighted to bring, once again, the International Tennis Federation event to Heron on the 17-20 September. We are on the lowest level of tiers so there is no excuse why so many members/Cornwall players should not play and win! Events start at the 30 year old category. Events are every 5 years, giving you a chance to play players of similar ages for enjoyable and competitive matches. Here with link to enter.
