What a way to start the season! ⚽🔥

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Cohan throughout the summer, putting in the work during our 1-1 sessions and focusing on developing his confidence, technical ability and finishing.

To then see him go into his first weekend back and scoring 3 goals! ⚽⚽⚽

That’s what the hard work is all about. 💪

We’ve worked on ball mastery, 1v1s, creating separation, finishing and being more confident in front of goal, and it’s brilliant to see those things starting to transfer into matchday performances.

A fantastic start, Cohan — but we’re only getting started! 👊

On Friday we welcomed back both Ollie’s down at JV Coaching for some extra individual training — and another really positive session from the boys!

Ball Mastery – improving close control, touches, changes of direction and confidence on the ball.

1v1 Attacking – looking at how to attack defenders with purpose, using changes of speed and direction, body feints and explosive movements to create space.

1v1 Defending – working on defensive positioning, patience, timing and trying to win the ball without diving in.

Competitive Games – finishing the session with plenty of 1v1 battles, encouraging both players to compete, make decisions under pressure and apply what they had worked on.

The biggest focus is always quality over quantity — developing better habits, building confidence and giving the boys lots of opportunities to make decisions and express themselves.

Brilliant attitude from both Ollie’s again. Two players who clearly love playing football and are hungry to improve! 💪⚽️

Great to get the first 1-1 session underway with Joseph today! 👏⚽️

A focused session working across three key areas:

Ball Mastery – improving close control, coordination and confidence with the ball.
Shooting – focusing on technique, striking the ball cleanly and finishing with purpose.
Passing – working on quality of pass & receiving details.

⚽️ First session with both Ollie’s! ⚽️

A brilliant first session meeting both Ollie’s today!

The focus was on mastering the basics, building confidence on the ball and developing those all-important fundamental skills. But above everything else, the main aim was to have fun — and both boys certainly did!

Lots of hard work, plenty of football and, most importantly, two big smiles leaving the session.

It was great to see them encouraging each other and enjoying their football throughout. A fantastic first session!

Great to have Cohan back on the pitch after a few weeks off! ⚽️

He didn't miss a beat. His application was absolutely fantastic today, and we nailed every single outcome we set for the session.

Today's Focus:
Ball Striking: Getting that power and accuracy dialed in.
Ball Mastery: Quick feet and building ultimate confidence on the ball.
Close Control: Keeping the ball glued to the feet.

1-1 session with Kayleigh ⚽️

Great to have Kayleigh back out on the grass after a few weeks away. Today was all about getting back into a rhythm, rebuilding confidence and getting comfortable with the ball again.

We worked through a range of technical practices, focusing on ball mastery, passing, receiving and movement, while gradually increasing the intensity throughout the session.

A really positive return, with plenty of quality moments and a great attitude throughout. 💪⚽️

I’m delighted to share that I’ve taken on the role of Head of Girls Football at Dragons Football Academy. ⚽️🐉

My focus will be on:

⚽️ Growing and strengthening the girls’ pathway
⚽️ Building teams across multiple age groups
⚽️ Recruiting and developing players and coaches
⚽️ Creating a clear, progressive player-development pathway
⚽️ Providing more opportunities for girls to play, develop and thrive
⚽️ Helping Dragons become a leading destination for girls’ football in the area

I’m excited to be joining an established academy with 160+ players, JPL football, excellent facilities and a strong track record of player development.

There’s a lot of work to do, but also a huge opportunity to build something really special.

I’m looking forward to getting started, meeting players, parents and coaches, and helping shape the next chapter of Dragons Girls Football. 🐉⚽️
