🥋🌍 100 DAYS TO GO! 🌍🥋

Well… this is getting real! 😳

In just 100 days, Jodie and I will be heading to Sarajevo for the World Veterans Judo Championships, Jodie competing and me in the coach’s corner at our first international veterans worlds.

Thanks to everyone’s amazing support, we’ve already raised enough to cover our accommodation and Jodie’s entry fee! ✈️🥋

There’s still plenty of training, fundraising and planning to do before then… and probably a reminder to get the time off work booked! 🤣

🥋✈️ SUPPORT OUR ROAD TO SARAJEVO 2026 ✈️🥋

We’re incredibly proud to share that two members of our club will be heading to the Sarajevo World Veterans Judo Championships 2026 for their first ever international veterans competition!

Jodie will be competing on the world stage, with
Hazel attending as coach and support team.

To help make this amazing opportunity possible, they’ve launched a GoFundMe to support travel, accommodation, competition fees, and other costs involved in competing internationally.

Another busy 8am randori with over 20 players making the effort to get up and improve themselves and their partners. Attendees from BSJC, Patchway, Japan Arts, Dowty, Duffryn, Swindon, Chepstow and Sweat Box showing that it is by coming together that we all prosper

Brilliant weekend of judo for Duffryn Judo Club. It started with celebrating the success of Ganesh. Achieving his shodan. A huge milestone for any judoka. We are so proud of him, he's an asset to the club.

Yesterday, we had two of our red belts competing at the Dragons Academy Open, Macsen and Toby. Both competed brilliantly and earned a bronze medal each. I've also heard some really nice feedback about how the well boys handled themselves both in conduct and technique. It's fantastic to hear how well they're representing themselves, their family and the club. I'm proud you. Thank you to Paula and Jodie for supporting!

Finally, three of our members were successful in completing their level one coaching qualification assessment. Jodie, Taliesin and Adam. A great achievement and a massive welcome to the coaching world! The team is growing!

I am very proud and grateful for everyone who is attached to this club. I'm proud of the group that we've become.

We had a good session here at the club! Some visitors from EGH. Absolute credit to Huw and represented their club proudly. It was a pleasure having them on the mat. I welcome them back anytime!

Plus another special guest made a surprise visit. Sensei Steve Morgan! Super exciting for me to see my dad and sensei in a gi again. It's been 6 years!
